I never thought I'd review a toilet seat, but here I am...Doesn't seem like it would matter, but maybe it does: I'm female, 5'6" and 135-140 pounds depending on the day. I'm not a speedy-sitter for my 'constitutional', I'm a harried and stressed solo mom/caretaker for an adult child (2 year old in a 23 year old body), so sometimes my only respite is half an hour in the loo. The problem with that was, seemingly, as I got older my legs and feet would go numb when I took my time. Thankfully my old seat (the 'standard' brand) started looking pink because I use bleach to clean it and the bleach was taking the finish off. I tried to paint it - don't ever waste your money trying to be cheap and paint a toilet seat, believe me! - and that made it feel like I sat on a seat of 80 grit for my legs and feet to go numb, so I bit the bullet, read the reviews and bought this one. Why this one? Because every once in awhile my boyfriend, at 2am, would accidentally drop the old seat and I'd have a mini heart attack. The silent close feature on this one sold me - lol. (It doesn't have hydraulics... I don't know why I thought that [face palm], rather it has to be pushed down just like it has to be pushed up. The hinge is tight and that keeps the seat and lid from freely slamming.)Anyways... MY LEGS AND FEET DON'T GO NUMB!! I don't know what about the old seat caused that, but what a relief!!! I'm serious!!!I'd give this seat 100/5 stars if I could.

There's few noises that annoy me more than the slam of a toilet seat.I have suffered many a traumatic evening when an angry lass will go into the water closet after having a row with me and slam that seat down.The day I discovered slow-close toilet seats was one of the happiest of my life. Now, no matter how mad a woman is, she cannot slam the toilet seat down in my house. It's like a secret weapon.Love this sturdy seat. Quiet and it's great for crapping!

This toilet seat is perfect! Our old toilet seat had come with the toilet when we installed it 3 years ago and I always hated it. It was plastic and thin and flimsy and when you sat on it, it curved in a little. I wanted to get a new seat forever but my husband didn't see the need to spend money on a new one since the old one was free. Boy, was I super happy when two weeks ago the kids broke the lid off the old plastic one! I bought this new seat and LOVE it!!!!!!!!!! It's thick and sturdy and a breeze to install. It stays in place and doesn't loosen. It's a slow close lid so my kids don't smash the lid down. And it's comfy to sit and poop on. It's easy to clean too.

Replaced my 3 year old one which broke (don't build them like they used to). Installed easily, fits my toilet, but even with the 2 adjustments slots lined up symmetrically with one another the seat does not sit straight on the toilet. Hangs over the edge on one side. (see pic) Must be a warped seat as I know it's not the toilet. I even double checked the 2 fasten points to make sure both were lined up with each other. Not a big deal I guess but for 40 bucks I would expect a damn toilet seat to fit perfectly symmetrically as they have since the dawn of time.

Bought a Moen soft close for $29 and it was the worst. Plastic, not easy clean, and it took forever for the lid/seat to close. Everyone knows that the lid should be down when you flush, so if your helped the lid close it would pop out of the socket and you would have to take it apart to fix. This one is stout, normal soft close time, and it closes with help easy. And is very easy to remove to clean behind. Simple, and works great. Will purchase again if required, but this should last a long time. Built like a tank.

The seat arrived slightly damaged. It had scuff marks on the part that you sit on. That aside, It was easy to install and has stayed in position so far. It is also easy to remove and clean, as advertised. However, the manufacturer seems to have forgotten about ergonomics when designing this seat. I'm a fairly skinny guy and the hole in the seat is too small for my buttocks, making sitting on the seat quite uncomfortable. Anyone bigger than me will likely find it really uncomfortable.

It seems silly to say -- but these seats are amazing. Got this one, and then immediately ordered 2 more for the other two bathrooms. Soft close for both the ring and the lid, but still easy to open. Looks really nice and has a nice taper on the seat itself. Easy to take on/off (and easy to install -- bolts just pop off when they get tight enough). So far they have been great to clean.

Slow close, sturdy. Better quality than I feel I can find at the local Lowe's. And I dont actually have to go out and shop for a toilet seat. How can you beat that. This is a good one. Buy it.

I like this unit. It is easy to install and seems to be of good quality. Do be aware though that the lid is very slow to close. If you are at all inclined to be impatient this may not be the right product for you.

I really like this seat because its a soft close and easy to clen, but after just over two months the seat broke. I got in March and after 2 months the seat broke. Now I can't return it and the number and website for the company is a golf club. Please save yourself the $70 and the hassel. Going to buy at Home Depot instead
