Although I hated to spend the money on this, I regret not getting it sooner. Does a great job at keeping the embers from popping all over our deck and on us. A nice safety net if you have small children or pets around the fire. It’s not 100% protection, but highly recommend getting one. Yes, it is a little clumsy taking it on/off, so we use fire gloves to make it easier.

We love love love our solo fire pit but this screen totally fell apart after half dozen fires 🥺Way too expensive for that to happen and is now useless.Update: The efficiency at which my issue was addressed and resolved was less than 30 minutes. Although there are multiple other brands on the market at cheaper prices, I will definitely continue to purchase and refer people to solo brand due to the their superior quality products and their extremely efficient customer service.I have a new screen being shipped to me from solo.

The quality of the screen is first rate. The problem is it’s clumsy to remove the top screen with the tools they provide and add wood to the fire at the same time. In addition, I still have numerous little embers escape into the air through the holes in the screen. I will continue to use the screen because I burn our stove on a wood deck (with stand and fire protection mat) and it does prevent larger embers from popping out.

The stainless screen protector is the best addition to my Bonfire 2. We use it at our beach home and with wind conditions there I no longer worry about sparks or hot embers escaping. Heavy duty!

Recieved as a xmas present and used it on new years with grand kids. We ordered the screen right away and it was here just in time. Puts off a nice warm cozy heat.

Works very well especially with provided tool set. Keeps fire contained safely. Easy to clean with soap and water.

Bliss, no more complaints about flying ash.The shield is in two parts, a lower and upper portion, the latter akin to a lid.I'm not sure why this should be so, if adding more fuel, I always lift the entire shield. The lower half may afford a degree of protection whilst chucking in more logs, who knows.The shield ships with a couple of handles which can be hooked into it for manoeuvring, they have been sent to the darkest recesses of the shed, never to venture out again, the heat proof gloves work just as well.Finally, apply all caution. using the shield doesn't eliminate the danger. When the fire is lit, just like the pit itself, the shield will become insanely hot.It has proved a great purchase for me, the mess that resulted from an evening spent around the fire is no longer there.
