JR Products 13495 Single Switch Wall Spacer - Black

This is an extension plate for a RV wall switch, not a standard household one. As such, used with the #12005 Wall Switch, it works great. I used them to create wall switches for the reading lamps over the bed in our 5th wheel. Since I had to run the wires in an exposed conduit, I made oak base plates to mount the switches to. It also gave a little more space for connecting the wires to the back of the switches.I had some questions about which parts to use, so I contacted JR Products via e-mail and received a prompt reply. They make a lot of plastic parts for the RV industry.

Caution, the color brown is not a chocolate brown, but a very dark brown; that looks black. Did not even come close to my brown switch.Could have returned but would to to pay return shipping plus restocking fee.

I tried to use it with the switch #12225 JR product but it did not work-- sent it back. There should have been a list of switches that fit in this part. It got 2 stars due to the ease of return.

The product is blended in with standard US wall switch covers and is more like something made for a hobbit house. I'm not even sure of the application, unless it is for a non-US house. JR should put clear usage criteria on this and probably all of their other products rather than showing only a dimension which is easy to miss.

These are not standard sized switch plate covers. Not sure what they fit on, but it isn't US electrical wall switches.

Makes for an easy installation on walls that you can cut into. Several of the walls on our yacht don't have an accessible backside, but using this allows us to mount the switches flush on the surface. They are hard to find though as I think they have discontinued them... that's a shame.
