This was a great item that filled my 48-quart monotube perfectly. In just a few days, I could see mycelium spreading. The substrate had just the right amount of moisture, and judging from the spread of the mycelium, it was free from contamination and had the proper nutrients to make my mushrooms grow. I'm looking forward to harvesting my mushrooms in the coming weeks.

I'm still relatively new to growing. I've prided myself in doing everything myself, along the way. I've compared my progress and skill by purchasing from other reputable vendors.To my surprise. After ordering, I realized Mycohaus is less than an hour away. Most products are made to order. I've had great success with this substrate. Looks and smells great. Secure, stabile packaging. The price is competitive. I'd easily order from Mycohaus in the future!

I used this as my primary substrate for 5 shoeboxes of manure-loving mushrooms. Mixed directly out of the bag without adding any additional nutrients. Moisture level was good, and it colonized extremely quickly. It has produced some monster fruits, and I've received 3 flushes so far with zero contamination. Just ordered another 20lbs. Highly recommend.

Great stuff, but costly with expensive shipping. Worked great in a 66qt tub, but learning how to make your own substrate is much more cost efficient and pretty easy. I only recommend this for those that don’t care about cost and want to grow mushrooms for a 1-time project.

I have been purchasing mycohaus 10lb blocks. They are extremely reliable and i have had zero issues with contam. Even with them sending it all the way to Hawaii. Basically the stuff is jet fuel for the strains i have been growing. Very happy with this product and its results.

I wish I had noticed it says sterilyzed instead of pasteurized. Sterilyzation leaves the medium wide open to contaminants to move right in. Pasteurization doesnt kill all microbes! Those microbes dont hurt your mushrooms and they keep trich and fuzzy molds away.I bought 2 and used one that got 3 different molds within a week of mixing spawn with a thin casing to cover exposed grain. I had already started making and pasteurizing my own substrate using the bucket Tek by the time I decided to try it. (Look it up. There are videos.) It was the only tub that got hit with contamination even though trich from this substrates contamination was in the air. None of the tubs with my pasteurized substate got contaminated.Its packaged nice and it's what they say it is. The problem is people might be inexperienced or bye it by mistake. Through all this I've learned that sterilyzed substrate is such a crap shoot that I'm not even gonna use the remaining 10lb bag for shroomiez. I'll probably mix it into my San Pedro cactus soil with a bunch of perlite and take a big L on this purchase.

I BOUGHT A 5LB BAG OF THIS PROBABLY 6+ MONTHS AGO & PLANNED ON USING IT IMMEDIATELY BUT LIFE HAPPENED & THE BAG HAS JUST BEEN SITTING IN A KITCHEN CABINET NEXT TO OTHER KITCHEN CABINET STUFF THIS WHOLE TIME. IT HASN'T DRIED OUT & HAS ZERO GROWTH ON IT WHICH MEANS IT IS CLEAN & NO CONTAM. IM FINALLY AT THE POINT TO DO SOMETHING WITH IT & HAVE ZERO DOUBTS OF IT PERFORMING AS IT SHOULD. SO IF YOUR GETTING CONTAM, IT IS YOU & YOUR STERILE PRACTICE THAT IS NOT UP TO PAR & BEING THE SOURCE OF CONTAM. ITS EASIER TO TAKE THE TIME & DO A COUPLE EXTRA STEPS TO MAKE SURE YOU & YOUR AREA IS CLEAN THEN TO DO THE WHOLE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN...I'M NOT SAYIN, I'M JUST SAYIN
