Great Tuner! No Issues, LONG Battery LIfe!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (a bit expensive, but this a great tuner--excellent value!) **Save your money--don't splurge on the clip-on microphone (it's totally a not need)**Bought this to help me with me picking up trumpet playing (I played brass in high school, but that's been longer that I care to remember!).Tuner works great--very quick tuner articulation. I was used to the expensive analog tuners, but I didn't feel like shelling out the cash for one of those, and with the the KORG TM-50, there is no reason to! Battery life has been excellent (but I usually keep the back-light turned off).Integrated Metronome is great (though not the coolest sounding metronome on the market).I didn't bother spending the extra $15 on the clip-on microphone, and am glad I didn't. This picks up sounds perfectly. If you are planning on playing in a group, and want to dial in just your sound, I could see justifying the cost, but even then, this thing does great by itself.Size: tuner is surprisingly small (online pictures can be difficult to gauge the size, but it's about the size of deck of cards (thinner, but a bit longer and wider)--very light. My trumpet case is a small case no problem.

The last tuner/metronome you'll ever buy
This product is absolutely fantastic in every way! It comes in a small box about the size of a postcard, and the tuner is wrapped in red bubble wrap upon opening the box. 2 AAA-batteries are included, and an instruction manual is also enclosed. This tuner can come in white or black, either color looks great. The tuner has many functions, it is a full chromatic multi-instrument tuner, a high-functioning metronome, and a tone generator. It generates tones chromatically from C3 to C6, keeps time in tempo from 30bpm-252bpm and allows you to tap your own tempo, and choose the amount of beats and rhythms that the metronome uses while keeping time (ex: eighth notes, eighth note triplets, shuffle pattern, sixteenth notes). It also allows metronome control using intervals of 1, or intervals used on standard metronomes. The tuner allows an external microphone to tune instruments from a far distance away (and up-close), and has a "sound back" function which blocks out external sound and only tunes using the input cable (for amped instruments like electric guitar and bass). Volume control can be set using the adjustment wheel on top, and a headphone jack is also available. Finally, a multi-setting orange backlight is also installed to use in dark areas. The tuner and metronome can be used at the same time. I can't really find anything wrong with this product, but the only suggestion I would have would be to have more selections of beat groupings/time signatures to choose from, but it's not something that I would hold me back from recommending this product to everyone. This is the product I would recommend to students and professionals looking for a light, compact tuner/metronome combo to use, it will be the last tuner/metronome you will ever buy.

Stay Tuned
I like this tuner and use it routinely. It facilitated learning my alto sax in concert pitch. Unfortunately, it lacks a transposing feature. The screen is well backlit and easy to read in daylight as well as dim light. It responds to notes quickly, has a broad range and all the desirable inputs/outputs, making it easy to jam or play by ear where there's no sheet music. Even pieces which are unfamiliar reveal their chord progression with this so long as they're not paced too fast or there aren't too many competing tones. This will try to select the fundamental tone. It's easy to slip in your pocket or stand on a flat surface. The speaker on it intended to produce an audible tone is pretty wimpy/unsatisfactory. BUT, you can get an accessory vibration pickup clip with a 1/4" jack that plugs right into this thing if the other instruments nearby are giving you fits. Perhaps the best feature with this unit is its intended purpose--to tune your instrument. It does this very well. This has the added benefit of teaching your ear good habits instead of bad ones provided you tune your instrument EVERY time you begin to play. Eventually, this lends itself to you being able to hear with your eyes (sheet music) and to 'see' with your ears (recognize what a printed note SOUNDS like). Folks too lazy to keep their instrument constantly in tune while playing lose this advantage or erroneously believe its irrelevant so long as they have 'relevant pitch' ears--NOT SO! For the price, this unit can't be beat. It is a little hard on batteries, but runs great on rechargeable AA's. (2)

A lot smaller than I expected
When I got the tracking info for the delivery I saw that the US Postal Service left it in my mailbox. My reaction: "Huh?" But then I saw the tuner/metronome and was amazed at how small it is. It will definitely fit into any case or gig bag that I have, even my stupid cheap trombone case that doesn't have a very large accessory pocket! I mostly bought this to use with a tuba, which of course has an enormous case, but that it will fit nicely in with my T-bone is nice too.As far as operation, it tunes very nicely. I could see quite well when my notes were sharp and flat, so I can work on my tone. It even detected notes all the way down to pedal E-flat, which if you play the tuba you know that note's weird on a BB-flat horn because the fundamental is actually completely missing in that register. The metronome, as others have pointed out, is a little quiet, but that's not a big issue to me. I play with a practice mute at home, and the clicks can easily be heard over the sound of the muted horn, even when playing fortissimo. There is a guide for BPM to tempo molded into the plastic on the back of the unit, not a sticker that could wear off. All in all, a very good piece of equipment, and I'm glad I got it.

PERFECTO
