ZEISSConquest Gavia 85 Spotting Scope Stay-on Neoprene Carrying Case, Black

I received the cover and put it on the scope. It was a very tight fit. So tight that it was hard to focus the scope. Also, when putting it on, one of the snaps broke off. The only acceptible thing about the cover was the no hassle return.

Having bought it, I now wonder why. The case is solidly made and on paper and maybe for travel protection its good. But it is really not useful when the scope is in use. The case it too tight to pull down at the objective end, potentially blocking the view. The case also impedes use of the focussing ring and the eyepice adjustments. Given that the zeiss optics are supposedly fully waterproof and the above difficulties Im not using it in the field. Id like to hear what other folks think. I dont see people with other coves having so much difficulty.

Purchased as a Christmas gift...he loved it! Only problem was a delay in receiving it, but it did arrive in time!!!

I'm a Birdwatcher and thought it was time to upgrade to a new spotting scope. I wouldn't normally buy online and certainly try before I Buy. However I took the gamble and purchased this zeiss Gavia scope after reading many reviews. I've used it for a few weeks now and am so impressed with the quality which is what you'd expect from a well known manufacturer. In low light conditions this scope let's in what little light there is and doesn't lose clarity on the subject you're viewing. I don't digiscope cos I prefer to use a dslr camera so won't offer a photo but to say you wouldn't be disappointed at the quality of this spotting scope.
