Worth the Work to Install
Works great. Takes a little work to install but is worth the effort.

Very sturdy frame and flapper
I’ve always had pet safe pet doors, so when purchasing a new home, that was the first thing I did before bringing my two Dobermans home. I purchased the variety with a metal frame for its durability. Install is very straightforward but is easiest if you remove the door from the hinges first and lay the door flat. Two things that I do not care for with this particular door set are the nylon bolts they provide for securing the door and the plastic security door to be put in from the inside. The nylon bolts are flimsy and tend to break if over tightened. I always replace them with stainless steel bolts in all the pet doors I’ve installed. The inside security door seems to have gone down in quality over the years. They used to be a little thicker, more rigid, and had a metal locking pin at the top. This new security door is a lot thinner and has a plastic locking tab at the top vs. the metal pin. I anticipate this plastic locking tab will eventually break. Not a huge deal, just something I’ve noticed from past installs. Overall, I’d highly recommend pet safe doggie doors, make sure you pay the extra and get the metal framed variety.

Great doggy door
Great door. Easy to install. Just be careful and don't use a drill to tighten plastic screws you will break them.

Very sturdy and love the panel to close it
I'm not a very DIY kind of person, so I called a handyman to install this. He was done in about half an hour, no problems with installation. The door itself is very sturdy, the magnet in the bottom that closes the flap once your dog goes through works very well. I got an L and it's the perfect size for my pitbull-labrador mix (about 60 pounds). He was very scared of going through it at first because the flap is not clear or transparent, but after a couple of days of treats and practice, he was going in and out like a pro (old dogs do learn new tricks, he's 14!). Finally, I got to say that I went with this aluminum one and not the less expensive plastic one, because this one includes a panel to insert from the inside so you can close it if you want to keep your pet inside or outside or if the weather is being extreme. Very pleased with this product.

Makes being a pet parent so much more enjoyable
I installed this in our bedroom door. I installed the extreme weather version to allow our dogs free access to the backyard as soon as we got our first dog but I didn’t realize how much it would improve our lives to have the same freedom for them to come and go into the bedroom until recently. If you are like us and your puppies sleep in your bedroom then do yourself a favor and install this in your bedroom door. We also have a couple of teenagers so it is almost imperative that we are able to keep our door closed otherwise we have to hear every time they get up to go to the restroom or downstairs to go to the kitchen and anyone with teenagers will know that means constantly seeing lights get turned on etc. As far as improving the quality of life for our two full grown Weimaraners they absolutely love being able to come and go freely. We also are able to lock them in or out with the very effective slide in door. As mentioned in at least one review the plastic bolts that come with the door are easily broken but if you are careful it isn’t too hard to successfully install the door with no breaking anything. I do suggest the aluminum framed door if you have as rambunctious of puppies as we do. I am quite confident that this door will last as long as the dogs do….or at least as long as I do 🙂

Good quality dog door
So far we haven't had any problems with this dog door. We like the aluminum frame which holds up better in the weather than the plastic frames.

Excellent replacement door
The only shortcomings were that the screws were short and the door was not as wide as the one we replaced. Same company, same height but different width. The screws were an easy fix and the door placement move was slight.
