This trick set of pedals is designed to truly go the distance and see you through as many epic rides and full-on hammerfests as you can handle. Entry and exit is crisp and predictable and the release tension is adjustable. The VX Races are also fully user-serviceable.

Better than Shimano XT pedals.
For 16.95??!! What?? These are the best pedals for that price. In my opinion, the VP VX Race pedals are better than the Shimano XT clipless pedals. Very well made. Chromoly spindle. It depends on your shoes, but for my Giro shoes, the pedal has great interaction with the sole so it isn't too sticky to twist your foot but at the same time secure.I have been using Shimano SPD pedals for too many years to count. While Shimano pedals are excellent, the last few versions have not been great because the clipless mechanism has been more difficult to and inconsistent in releasing. The VP VX Race pedals are solid performers and I think they have a better clipless mechanism than Shimano. They have a smoother release and are still very secure. The weight states 370 grams but mine weighed 390 grams. So, they weigh about 50 grams more than the Shimano XT pedals. Definitely not a deal breaker.Still puzzled why VP pedals haven't really caught on much. There is a lot of competition in the pedal market but these are some of the best SPD pedal performers I have used.

Yikes! Seemed like a great deal, until...
I purchased a set of VX Race pedals on Jan 1, 2017 for my gravel and XC bike and they seemed great at first. They are light and (used to) match my SPD cleats perfectly. Over time however I’ve noticed that they are becoming harder and harder to get out of. Instead of the smooth twist outward motion, I now have to twist up and out, followed by a wiggle at the end. If I don’t perform this routine perfectly my feet hang halfway out, which is probably more dangerous than being fully locked! And now, I can’t hop up on curbs because pulling up too hard will release one or the other, often leaving my groin to catch my body. The warranty expired after a year, so I’ve written to the company to see if there’s maintenance I should do to make these work like they did the first year. I keep them clean and occasionally drop some silicone lube on the moving parts. For the record I have never had (and do not currently have using the same cleats) a problem like this with any of my Shimano pedals. I'll update this review if the company fixes the problem.

I bought a couple pairs and they work great. No problems after a couple seasons of riding
Hard to find any faults with SPD pedals <$20. I bought a couple pairs and they work great. No problems after a couple seasons of riding. Nice wide surface for power transfer & stability.

Excellent way to step into clipless pedeals
Love these little pedals and for the price, why wouldn't you? Great opportunity for a beginning rider to step into (sorry) riding clipless. I would encourage anyone who's remotely serious about mountain biking to try these. They're great quality and for the price, they can't be beat. I have had no problems with them.

Great pedals
Half or a third of the price of shimano. Works perfectly. Bought second set after I realized the quality and tried them out. Replaced shimano and scott pedals and every bit as good, if not better. I then bought my son VP platform pedals and those are great quality also. I think safe to say that VP is a high quality manufacturer.

They are very easy to clip in and out of
I use these on both my cyclocross and road bike. They are very easy to clip in and out of. The sealed bearings were a selling point for me. They feel the same weight as any other clipless pedal in the hand. I don't care about grams, so for $20 these pedals are excellent.

Good value at reasonable price.
As good as they look on the photos. Real good craftsmanship. Clip in easier than the Shimano pedals I have. Allow for side play (float). Would recommend them.
