My Setup - 2009 Mac Pro 4,1Packaging Typical card box, removable divider inside, card to the right in non static plastic with a folded set of "instructions".I purchased the Sonnet Technologies Tempo Duo PCIe to replace my ancient Caldigit FASTA-6GU3 which was no longer supported in OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan since it is discontinued. The card was returned this afternoon via the Amazon return process, less than 24hrs after I had received it from UPS.Whoa...what went wrong?Plugged the card in and the system recognizes it. Good so far. I then run Black Magic Speed Test on a SSD Raid 0 setup connected to the Tempo via USB 3.0 and the numbers look dreamy. Then I tried to manually drag a 2gb and 4gb real world(as per my workflow) folder into the Raid and the disk was ejected. Maybe something was wrong with the ProBox? No matter what I set the controller to it kept ejecting the disk. Was the USB 3.0 cable faulty? After awhile I decided to leave things alone thinking the ProBox would need to leave as beautiful as it is. This morning I woke up to find the Raid ejected yet again. Ok. I tried turning the ProBox on and off, rebooting the Mac and some of everything but the ProBox was not appearing on the desktop. It's fan would start up, lights blink blue for both SSD's, solid bar underneath red for a read/write and then it cuts off. With some playing around I discovered that the Probox works just fine so far, as does the USB 3.0 cable and all my other equipment except this PCIe card which now had dead USB 3.0 ports. I'll spare you my theory of what happened to kill the ports. I did later check the Sonnet website and silly me.Regardless of what it says here on Amazon, on the box and elsewhere in regards to supporting El Capitan that has not been my experience. From the Tempo product detail page of the Sonnet website - "OS X El Capitan compatible". I find it odd that a product is supported by Apple's latest desktop and laptop OS yet when you've eventually found the driver and support page on the Sonnet website the last available Mac driver was for 10.9.5 Mavericks. The package doesn't come with any CD's either so where exactly is the driver support for OS X El Capitan coming from?I already returned the card as mentioned before and ordered a 4 port card from another company. Unlike this card, it has dozens upon dozens of reviews confirming there is a very high probability that card should work.

No Bluetooth interference on classic Mac Pro
I tried the sonnet allegro USB 3.0 as well as the Inatek before finding this card. This card was the only card out of the 3 that did not interfere with my 2009 Mac pro's Bluetooth. The eSATA speeds are excellent but I think the USB 3 speeds are throttled a bit at a maximum of 350MB/s.

SWEET!
I upgraded by Mac Pro 4,1 to a 5,1, then I upgraded the OS to High Sierra. That crashed by Lacie 2.0 Sata-e card. So I bought this card, it worked, and, I got to USB 3.0 ports plus the two esata ports! SWEET!

Great but not for all external RAIDS
Exactly what I needed for my Mac Pro but it doesn't work with my SansDigital web GUI

Expensive but does the job. Solid product. Probably overpriced.
