I bought this for my senior parents who had a difficult time differentiating the Apple Mini port vs. MicroUSB, which was causing them to jam and damage the connectors by accident. Since I switched them to this we've had zero issues. It works well on a iPad Air 2 as well as a first generation iPad 2 (very old model). I was even able to modify one of our iPad cases to accommodate the plug, and I've never had it slip out. I never swap it - it's installed once and it stays there, I figure if you're pulling these in and out you'd easily lose them.The only thing that I don't like about this product is the little plastic ring that goes on the device. It is very weak and both of ours have cracked, but they continue to work. I worry that eventually it will crack more and the metal will fall out. So far two good though - been using it for 2 months and I'd hate to switch back to manual cords.

This would be a great device if it was made a bit better. The magnet connection is solid and it snaps into place as it should. This is definitely better than fiddling around with the standard plug style cable. There is plenty of cable so it can extend from plugs pretty far away and allow you to use the device while it's charging. The only problem that I had is that the plastic parts around the connection will break over time...and when i say over time I mean less than a month of light use. If Smart-Rhino can solve this, then this would be a great magnetic cable

I'll be honest, I believe it's a cool idea but not well executed. I'll start with the good: it's much easier to plug my phone to charge. And the little adapter at the bottom doesn't take away from the use of phone. The led light is also a nice touch.Now to the negative: I've had this product a little over a month and wasn't pleased. The cable wouldn't be recognized as a "certified" cable. This meant lots of plug-unplug testing. Worked about 70% of the time. Then the piece on the connector broke (metal part) and chipped. It's unusable.Also, it is very easy to disconnect too accidentally but it's a small nuisance; only when it would charge my phone and not give me an error.I was really hoping this could replace my lighting cables but it hasn't.

I don't like to buy cheap iphone cables in fear of it messing up my phone, so i hopped on this cable after seeing that it supposedly used the same connector as the actual macbook pro magsafe's 4 pins (per some of the question answers above). However, it does not. I am not able to charge my ipad/iphone via the magnetic tip and the macbook magsafe charger, it does not fit. But the magnet is strong, and the charge speed seems fine.*note, can only be attached via one direction only however, unlike the macbook magsafe which is reversible.

Jack, a light at the end of a cable... All it is. Didn't work right out of its silly pouch. The light comes on letting you know it thinks it's done something right. But... It hasn't. It doesn't charge my iPhone 6s plus or even though the seller said it would charge my compatible Mac book air... It didn'tI know their are variables, but I have my own set of tools compatible with iPhone and just about any electronic device. I replace broken digitizer, clean ports interior parts (if it makes sense financially and is past warrant of corse).It's not what I do for a living but I'm persistent and have a will to fix over replace.This cable just doesn't work, I tried it with a variety of known functional adapters. While cross testing those adapters with other cables.It's a small expensive Christmas light, happy holidays.

OK so of the bat I love the build quality of this product but yes BUT it does not charge quick enough or even to the regular apple wires. Other than that I would totally recommend this product to anyone that wants a quick and convenient mag safe style charger for your phone.

Item works but if you use just about any case on your phone it will not fit. You also only get one cable so to charge in your car or on the go you have to take the little piece out and risk loosing it.

Fit and form this cable is great! Why didn't Apple create this originally? Function-wise this cable won't keep the 6s+ charged why navigating. While obviously that uses a ton of power, I have other cables stock and aftermarket that charge the phone at a fast rate when navigating and streaming music on lte, all while using the same charger base. Disappointing.
