1st of all, this is an expensive item - but, if you're after that perfect Texas rib flavour that's what you're gonna have to pay over here in Blighty.Although small, these wood chunks impart an amazing, subtle flavour to anything cooked in their smoke. Heat output increased by about 15% when compared to equivalent amounts of Oak, so use sparingly when cooking at low temperatures.would like to see Mesquite & other American hardwoods more readily available this side of the Atlantic... guess I'm just gonna have to move to Austin TX...

Good quality, BUT blimey 6 small bits of wood, I am sure its kiln dried by elves using their elvish breath, but sheesh

Definitely hickory wood and does smoke, but the size is honestly pathetic so absolutely useless for smoking as the 'chunks' burn through so quickly. See picture for reference, pear wood chunk on right, biggest hickory in the box on left.

The box is tiny. Very little wood for your money.

Turned up in a box. Was supposed to be 3L bag. Photo shows a 1L jug In Front of the box. Not at all convinced that the box holds 3 L of wood. 8 chunks of wood in the box! Yes, 8. For a tenner.Won’t make that mistake again. Beware!!!
