View From a Blue Moon

Beautifully shot and with a great start I had hight hopes for the film, but as it went on there was less and less to it and it ends up in the island of mediocre surf filmsLuckily there is still time for its young protagonist to make more, and better, films in the future

Knutson gets kudos for the photo work.It was just plain boring as a movie. And I surf, a lot. No plot line.Narrator, Reilly, sounded comatose or perhaps just a really bad attempt to channel the old Bruce Browne surf flicks.Not worth the time to view, thankful it was only one hour vaporized out of my life.

I love everything about North Shore and John John Florence, so gotta give this movie 5 star. Beautiful visuals, great soundtrack and John John being John John as usual. Great movie to watch on a rainy day!

I'll start by saying that it's hard not to be disappointed with an expectation set by reading assertions that it "may be the best surfing movie of all time". It was definitely cool and worth seeing but with it being primarily focused on just one guy that made it lose a little bit for me. As great as his tricks are, after awhile of watching similar footage just from different days on the water, it starts to seem repetitive. Definitely some very cool camera perspectives (like following a wave underwater)

Thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to this. So much more than just a "surfing movie." The "B-roll" film of people and places was excellent. Most of the music was excellent...good variety. Just the right amount of narration. Of course it had terrific surfing footage...including the wipe-outs. I'll enjoy this over and over.

I never thought I would be reviewing a surfer movie, but View from a Blue Moon was so stunning that I needed to. This is one of my friend's favorite movies, and before I watched it I didn't understand. However, this movie has the best water cinematography I have ever seen. The visuals are absolutely stunning and makes me feel like I'm there. This movie just puts me in a very chill mood. It's great to rewatch casually and doesn't require 100% attention all the time. Just sit back and enjoy the water.

Excellent photography with stunning views of John's surfing and travels to big wave surfing destinations. Not much dialogue as previous reviews mention. Music matches the scenes. Excellent movie for those who love surfing and excellence in a sport. Will watch it again. Rented it, I might even buy it as I can see me watching it more times. Well, I bought it. Watched it four times and decided that this is worth buying for future inspiration and for its beauty.

Superb Brand new Surf Film by the Next Generation.......Stunning visiuals.....Next Generation wave riding.....and insight-filled glimpses of the Planet...other cultures.....with the recent "winner" of the iconic EDDIE....as the Focus....front -and-center....Great job John Florence and Filmmaker -Blake Vincent Kueny.....VERY impressive !!!..The soundtrack Rocks !

It is expensive, there is not much of a story line and although the surfing is good and the visuals are good, if I had seen this film once say at a mates house, I wouldn't have bought it.
