Wonderful texture, a pleasure to use and very pretty muted colours which were perfect for the earthy colou r rscheme i wanted.

Excellent colours with an unusual graphite content. Good for experimenting with creating atmosphere. The quality of these British-made paints is outstanding.

Interesting product to use. Adds a different twist to existing watercolours. Results seem to vary quite significantly with different types of cotton watercolour paper meaning some experimentation will be useful first. Overall a great product. Would have preferred a typical metal paint box rather than the plastic unit supplied which appears to be quite flimsy.

I've got the xl coloured graphite blocks. I decided to try these graphitints paints as they're similar when used as a paint meduim. I also bought the derwent tint & shade mixed media set to see what they're like as well.These are very different from any water colour paints. Very granulated with a slightly shiney affect you get with graphite. The range of colours is nicely muted and also lend themselves well to a monotone look.They're meant to be eraserable yet its more a case of reduced than really erased.Nice small box for use with a sketch book when out and about. They are well worth playing with.As for the sister Dewert tint and shade mixed media set they're also nice but in a different sort of way. They to me lend themselves more to almost colouring a pen and ink drawing in a bolder sort of way or creating a background wash with the tinted charcoal they offer.

I've had this in my basket for a couple of months. The last thing in the world I need is any more paint, but I was so intrigued. They seem to have gotten not 100% positive ratings so I want to throw my 2 pence worth in. They arrived today, I ordered them last night - Excellent.I swatched them on cold press paper. As I always do, moisten for a few moments first then (using one of my normal brushes) tried out each colour to match against what they say. I can't fault their swatches. It's very rich paint that you could paint on very thick if you so wished, or washed out, both colours (rich and washed out) are excellent. I have no idea what I will use them for, I just wanted them ;-) I am not sure they particularly look like graphite, quite a few of them are very similar to Daniel Smith colours. There is the tiniest little sparkle to them under a bright lamp. Anyway - for me 10 out of 10. I don't think they are cheap, but hey ho, I knew that before I ordered them.

These paints are in a class alone as they contain graphite as well as pigment, which gives a slightly subtle effect. I do have the graphene pencils, but I find the paints just perfect for the trees and woodland I like to paint. The colours are not quite true to the chart, but you can mix interthem, and mix with conventional watercolour paints.

Absolutely delighted with these paints. They feel 'earthy' , gritty to use as expected. They colours are devine. They mix well with D.S and Qor. I'm a novice painter but I just love these. I have handmade paints and the texture is very similar. Great addition to any increasing paint supply. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

An excellent graphite watercolor palette. It blends the rich intensity of graphite with the fluidity of watercolors. It offers me a unique and versatile medium to enhance my watercolor paintings and projects. . It features a balanced range of graphite shades. Overall, an outstanding graphite watercolor palette for a very reasonable price. Derwent never disappoints.

I have been wanting to try these pans for awhile and the price dropped so I pulled the trigger. Overall, they are wonderful. They behave differently than watercolor and are more opaque, like gouache. The graphite settles into the paper, which is more noticeable with cold press than with smooth sketchbook paper and in the light the flecks of graphite add a subtle shimmer. I used them with a light application on a drawing in my Hahnemuhle watercolor sketchbook and more heavily on 100% cotton cold press watercolor block. In both instances they were lovely to work with and allowed focus on tone without the "distraction" of a huge range of colors. The muted colors are lovely for rendering sea birds. One reviewer commented that the green grey was too similar to the other colors, but I found a significant distinction between that shade and the other colors in the palette while painting and mixing with it. I was able to get the darkest tones with the steel blue straight out of the pan, but the range of colors when mixing was impressive. I think these are a great addition to pencil and look forward to sketching with them. Well worth the investment.

Son muy bonitas. No se aprecia bien en las fotos pero tienen un efecto brillo que me recuerda a las sombras de ojos brillantes. Al principio se ven todas oscuras pero con el primer uso ya puedes ver los colores. Yo aconsejo hacer pruebas de color porque puede variar del muestrario que viene en la caja.
