A Torn Paige: Hidden Kingdom Trilogy Series, Book 1

The MC was a paranormal I had never read about and that alone being done, and done well, had me from the get go. The MC was mature for her age, I thought, and didn’t deal with a lifetime of cruel abuse leading to bitter internal dialogue or angry/ defensive relationships and friendships with people. Yet still very sassy.The men were fleshed out and quite a variety, and let the MC do and make decisions on her own, with just offering support and guidance. THAT right there is rare in books with an alpha males/s situation and very much a breath of fresh air and appreciated.It moved along with a nice fast paced flow and the end snuck right up on me lol. Can not wait for the next book.All in all, a pretty healthy mentally, kick but MC, of a super that is new to me, combined with excellent writing (no errors, misspelled, or improper use of your/you’re, reign/rein) made this the book highlight of the week for me. And being I read about 20 books a week, that is saying something :)

Paige has been thrust into the world of the unknown where vampires, ghouls, shifters, mages, and witches alike exist. While she can typically deal with change, the one that sets her nerves on Fire is that now, she’s a freaking Queen. Yes, a freaking Queen...who lives in a castle and has 4 mates..4. So much to handle all at once, but with her beloved dog, her sister and her sisters family, she can handle anything..she hopes.I loved this book..can you tell. It is vintage Lila Rose, but more..hot sexy men, kick ass women with sarcasm in spades, evil people trying to do them harm, hot sex of varying kinds..you can’t get enough and yet she gave you just enough to have you panting for more and not just for more hot sex,but for more to the story of who’s trying to kill the new Queen, can Nate win the fight to defend his mate, will Alex ever stop blushing? I can’t wait for part 2.Great job Lila.👍

I'm not quite certain why stories can't be immersive and exciting and also sexual and steamy but here's a other that compromises one to satisfy the otherI love the fact that theres a ghoul mane character, it's original though the issue is that given her powers and ability she basically a vampire. Super strength, super speed, doesnt need to use the bathroom, dies from decapitation. The opportunity to give her other abilities to distinguish a difference between her and other supernatural was missed.I'm also glad that the mainccharcter had a healthy (mlstly) family unit. Often the main characters are sibling less with recently deceased parents and it's good to see a refreshing take on the main character having family that also happens to be a healthy relationship. Unfortunately the sister wasn't put to good use in the story and ended up being a pointless addition. There wasn't anything the sister said that couldn't have been given by internal monologues or a befriending staff member in the castle. It was a missed opportunity for something better.The story could have been amazing but the author learned more in the direction of erotica only instead of creating a solid story with an immersive world and then adding in romantic and sexual scenes later. Because she chose to base her story solely around the main characters lust it really lacked the intensity, intelligence and immersive qualities it could have if written for the story first snd sex second. And the writing itself, was in no way simple, but rather modest and uncomplex. There seemed to always be a few sentences I'm each chapter that could do with a makeover, but otherwise it was decently written.I dont dislike the book, it was a good idea and intriguing at times but could have used a little more thought and effort. It really didn't get good until the end.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I plan on reading more of her work because this book was amazing. I have never read a book where a ghoul was a race of supernatural, let alone a female lead character. It is unique, creative, and out of the ordinary that captured my attention from the first chapter.The character development, plot line, and world building was perfectly executed and did not leave me scratching my head with questions. I love all the characters that have been introduced on Paige’s side. Ezra is definitely my favorite even though he is only a hellhound who fiercely protects Paige and her family. It is apparent that he is highly intelligent and his interactions with Paige is humorous at times but heartwarming. You can tell that they have a strong relationship and are loyal to one another. I love watching the 4 men evolve their own relationships from a professional one to one that is more personal. In other words, I am loving the MM action going on!!! It’s hot as hell!!The obvious division between races of supernatural and their beliefs added plenty of drama for Paige and her men while they set out to fulfill the new role of queen and her bonded mates. The division is felt so strongly by some that Paige, family, and mates are all targets in a deadly political game. That ending with Ezra broke my heart but I have high hopes for the next book and Ezra‘s well being. 🙏🏼This is a phenomenal book that is full of steam, different supernatural races, drama, political turmoil, a bada** female ghoul queen, and plenty of excitement that has left me wanting more of this series. I highly recommend this series to lovers of RH, with a delicious side order of MM!

I'm trying to not give much away in this review. Nate really ticked me off as regards to how he felt about bonding with Paige from the beginning and then all of a sudden towards the end of the book it was okay with Alex. I won't be continuing this series.

I always really enjoy reading Lila Rose books. Her MC series are such good fun. I always devour them. When I saw that she had written a reverse harem (one of my favourite genres) under the name L Rose, I knew I had to read it.Paige Alice used to be human, until she woke up clawing her way out of a grave. Since a hellhound brought her some human flesh to consume, she worked out that she was a ghoul. She carried on working as a barista and seeing her sister, her husband and her nephew and niece and tried to fit in learning how to survive with the aid of her trust hellhound Ezra.Then everything changed again when she met other supernaturals, Alex, a mage, Nate, a werewolf, Asher a vampire and Thorn another ghoul. It turns out she might be the new Queen of the ghouls and all the demons are after her for some reason.This was a good fun read, full of interesting characters and plot aplenty. It also had piping hot sex scenes. Be aware there are mm relationships in this books as well as mf and mfm. The author really thought through the supernatural political structure and unveiled it slowly throughout the book, but I know there is a lot more information to come.The book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, but it isn’t a major one. It does make me really want to read the next book though.

I've surprised myself! I absolutely bloody loved this book! Seriously fell hook line and sinker for alllll the words!! Lila is a fave author anyway so i thought i'd give these a go. I'm not a regular para reader but this one got me all excited and unable to put it down!!The story starts with a bang and oooh was i hooked!! I resented needing to go food shopping because i had to put it down! I was very tempted to keave the cupboards bare so i could devour this story!Its been a while since i found myself actually wanting to review a book. Not seeing it as a bit of a chore. I wanted to come on here and shout at everyone to read it!! Look at me gushing and rambling! It feels amazing!! And this is what this book has done. It's energised and excited me and its turned me waaaaay on. It's made me hot. It's made me smile. Its just bloody brilliant!I'm straight on to book 2. If they weren't all out i'm not sure how i would have functioned!I love all the characters in case you hadn't guessed. Paige is a tremendous lead character. I love her so hard. From the moment she pretended to a Demon she'd been stood up i fell for her.Then come the guys! I can not. I will not choose a fave. Like Paige they're all mine!! Shy sweet Alex. Cocky, confident Asher. Suave and Sophisticated Thorne. And finally (or maybe not finally cause i think the Hellhound will come into play at some point, even after the ending) Nate the Alpha a hole. I LOVE them all!!Sixty gazillion stars for this book! A Ghoul Queen and all her mates are a MUST read!! Get on it!!Whoop whoop!! Onto book 2!!

This is a different thread to her normal books but oh so good.Paige wakes up in a dirty grave wondering what the heck happened,then she has an arm thrown at her to eat.This is just the beginning, Paige knows she's different but not sure how different until she walks into a situation that leads to the beginning of her new life. Oh and her delicious mates are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥This is such a good read, I had a book hangover. Can't wait for the next part

I wasn't sure about the Harem thing but I loved it. I understood the connection between the Paige, Asher, Thorn, Alex & Nate and it works perfectly. Amazing story that had me gripped from the beginning but dam the cliffhanger! I cannot eat for the next 2 installments.
