Very disappointed in this fly paper trap.
I made a mistake when reading the advertisment for this flying insect trap. I for some reason thought that it also zapped. I'm not sure how I got that impression. As is, it is just a pheromone and light that attracts them to a sticky board. Easy to use. Easy to hang. Mediocre at best. At this price point I expect more. Fly and gnat season hasn't truly begun so they aren't in extreme abundance but enough around to be noticeable. They fly around it but nothing is getting trapped to the sticky board except stray strands of hair. Technically the trap works. I caught 4 flies and 1 maybe gnat in approximately 3 weeks. My impressions is this trap is basically fly paper with a pretty cover that barely works. I gave three stars because it technically works as advertised however weak this piece of equipment is.

"Effective, Quiet, and Easy to Use – Perfect for Indoor Fly Control!"
The Flowtron portable fly trap is amazing! I’ve been using it in my kitchen to control flies and gnats, and it works wonders. The dual lure method with 30W UV light and pheromone attractant draws in the bugs quickly, and the sticky strips catch them efficiently without any mess. What I love most is how quiet it is — I can run it all day without being bothered by noise. It covers up to 500 sq ft, making it perfect for my house and even for use in restaurants or other indoor spaces. It’s compact, easy to set up, and does an excellent job keeping the flies and gnats at bay. Highly recommend this for anyone struggling with indoor pests!

Good but not the best
Works great for the store setting! This is a great fly trap. Its a classic, yet simple design and most importantly - it works! The bulbs are about 15 watts, they can be swapped out with larger or brighter bulbs and there are led bulbs as well. But modifications have to be made. This one does not ZAP the bugs. The UV light is there to draw the bugs towards it, the sticky pad inside is what catches the bugs. It does work but sometimes bugs just swarm around it.I hung it in the loading dock and added several fly tapes to the bottom, and that does a better job of catching everything then just the light alone. It does work, however at this price point I don't think it's for residential use as there are far cheaper options available. This is ,more for commercial use to meat code requirements.Good product but other options available that work better.

Bad purchase for me
Had problems with insects in the home. Insects were not even attracted to it, and the product just dried out the air. Don't waste your time.

Works OK with the ones that get to the sticky board
Nice looking fly trap. I have been using bug zappers since 1990 and much prefer ones that zaps the insects rather than relies on them getting stuck. I don’t believe it works as well as a zapper, and it obviously requires maintenance.Something I learned long ago, with regular bug zapper, was to place the bug zapper away from the area that you’re in. Remember, the lights attract them, so place it in an area where it will draw them from your area away. Not all bugs get zapped immediately and you don’t want to be in their flight path on the way to the zapper when they decide to make a pitstop on you. This does seem to attract the gnats and flies in central Texas, however, I’m not so sure that they’re all being trapped on the sticky paper.

Good!
The Flowtron Portable Indoor Fly Trap exceeded my expectations! It’s sleek, easy to set up, and incredibly effective. I use it in my kitchen and dining area, and within a few hours it had already caught a surprising number of flies and gnats. The dual lure method—30W UV light combined with the pheromone attractant—really draws them in, and the sticky strips do the rest without any zapping noise or mess. It’s quiet, odor-free, and safe to use around food areas, making it ideal for homes or restaurants. Covers a good 500 sq ft easily. If you're tired of annoying flies, this is a must-have solution that truly works!

Pretty pretty useless so far
Pretty but no help with any bugs, I think they just accept it as a new night light for themselves. Instructions could be better. Will update if the bugs start committing suicide cause of it..

Similar appearance to units in commercial buildings, not "silent"
I've worked is several restaurants and also just observed similar devices in foodservice businesses. I would not necessarily agree with the "silent" claim, but it is mostly quiet. You can definitely hear the buzz from the transformer and bulbs, that stereotypical buzz/hum from fluorescent or neon fixtures.I suppose the silent claim is that this attracts bugs, but doesn't zap or use electricity to kill them, just attracts so the get stuck on the adhesive board. But I'm not overly convinced of that with this product. After peeling the protective paper off, the board is not even as tacky as the boards used with a Cricut cutting machine. I expect it will be good for gnats and fruit flies, but I'm not sure about some bigger insects. It's a little early in the year for flying insects to be noticeable in the house right now, but we'll put it to use over the summer and I'll update if anything stands out.
