I LOVE ENGELBERT'S VOICE, EVERYTHING HE SINGS IS GREAT - HIS VOICE IS SO POWERFUL, HE CAN SING ANY SONG AND IT WOULD SOUND GREAT.I FIRST SAW HIM AT THE RIVERIA IN LAS VEGAS IN 1967 AND WAS SITTING AT A TABLE RIGHT UP TO THE STAGE AND THAT'S WHEN HE WOULD HAVE 3 OR 4 WOMEN, I BELIEVE ON STAGE SIT IN A CIRCLE AND HE CAME OVER TO WHERE I WAS SITTING, BUT MY EX-HUSBAND AT THE TIME WOULDN'T LET ME GO ON STAGE. SO LIKE A MILLION OTHER WOMEN I JUST HOPE TO HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF SHAKING HIS HAND AND GETTING HIS AUTOGRAPH SOME DAY ---- BUT I KN0W THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN -- I'M NOT THAT IMPORTANT AND WOULD NEVER GET THAT OPPORTUNITY.I SAW HIM ON JANUARY 23, 2013 AT RUTH ECKERD HALL, BECAUSE CLEARWATER, FL. IS CLOSE TO WHERE I LIVE IN BROOKSVILLE, FL. AND EVERY TIME I CALL FOR RESERVATIONS WHEN I KNOW HE'S GOING TO BE THERE, WHICH IS WHEN I FIRST GET THE PAMPHET OR NEWS WHEN HE WILL BE PERFORMING AT RUTH ECKERD HALL, IT SEEMS ALL THE GOOD SEATS IN FRONT ARE ALWAYS GONE WHICH IS SO DISAPPOINTING AND I CALL FAR ENOUGH IN ADVANCE TO BELIEVE I WILL GET GOOD SEATS, BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING WRONG. I'M JUST NOT THE RIGHT PERSON, I GUESS!MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY ON JULY 22, 2013, OF ESOPHAGEAL CANCER WHICH WAS SUCH A SHOCK --I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S GONE AND I DIDN'T LISTEN TO MUSIC FOR AWHILE, BUT WHEN I STARTED PLAYING MY CD'S, ENGELBERT, IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN GET ME OUT OF MY DEPRESSION FOR THE TIME I AM LISTENING TO HIM. I AM, OF COURSE, STILL GRIEVING FOR MY HUSBAND AND CAN'T BELIEVE HE GOT THAT TERRIBLE SICKNESS, BUT THANKS TO, ENGELBERT, HIS VOICE CAN MAKE ME FEEL GOOD WHILE I AM LISTENING TO HIM AND I KNEW THAT BY SEEING HIM PERFORM, IT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL GOOD AND IT DID ---THE SEATING WAS NOT GOOD WHICH WAS DISAPPOINTING.GOD BLESS THE WONDERFUL VOICE GOD GAVE YOU, ENGELBERT.DIANA [email protected]

The best of the best, this is a flawless compilation culled from Engelbert's first six albums, LPs that I would play for hours on end during the late '60s and early '70s. Though Engelbert has had a long career, and re-recorded some of his hits, these are the original recordings, well mastered for a good sound, starting with "Release Me", Engelbert's debut 1967 hit single and album produced by Dick Rowe, and the following 11 tracks with the lush production by Peter Sullivan, ending with the magnificent interpretation of the international hit "Love Me With All of Your Heart (Cuando Caliente el Sol)" from the "We Made it Happen" LP released in 1970. I is also the only currently available compillation that includes the fabulous "Just Say I Love Her", with its soaring Italian melody, so ideally suited to Eng's voice.These are eternal melodies, sung to perfection; hearing them again, some after an absence of 25 years, is a revelation. Time stands still for excellence, and it's a comfort to know that I might have been a little goofy in my youth, but I had one thing right: Engelbert was, is, and always will be among the greatest of singers. The totally unique sound, enormous vocal range, phenomenal breath control, beautiful phrasing, and sheer artistry exemplified in these recordings (especially the last 6 tracks from the later albums) puts him at the top of the heap, with few to keep him company.Hearing Engelbert's music without the trappings of "pop idol celebrity" that surrounded him over three decades ago also adds to the enjoyment on a purely musical basis. If you like romantic ballads and appreciate a superb vocal performance, you will love this marvelous compilation.The foldout insert has a song list with recording info, and total playing time is 37'47.

Englebert, you're the bomb. Greatest Love Songs? you're the greatest. It has a good selection of Englebert's favorites, although there are a few I wouldn't have minded having on this CD - I listen to this almost daily in my car and it keeps me from wanting to commit murder on the roadway ;-)

Great soundtrack...motivated me to see him in concert recently at the Westbury Theatre in Long Island!

I bought this as a gift for an elderly friend. Am very disappointed in the sound quality of it, but my friend is happy just to have Engelbert's music to listen to. I had difficulty choosing among all of the different combinations of songs offered on the different CDs, but again my friend is happy w/ any songs, so I'm satisfied but not thrilled.

great music and father love it

This seems to be an older group of his earlier recordings. I love 'My World'..Il Mondo. I know this song in Spanish and it is so beautifully done by Engelbert in English. All the songs chosen on this cd are really nice to listen to. If my cd was broken or damaged I'd certainly buy a replacement of this same one again.

Nothing to dislike if you like Englebert

This album is fabulous not easy to find anywhere I was delighted with the CD. I had looked everywhere for Love me with all your heart which is rare to find even on I tunes
