If you're an educator looking for a pencil sharpener that can withstand your kids, this one's up there while still being somewhat affordable. It's got a distinct difference in sound and you can "feel" when the pencil is done being sharpened since the motor stops for you. Because of both of these characteristics, it's been incredibly easy to "train" the kiddos on how to use it properly without beating the thing to death. This pencil sharpener has managed to save me money from having to replace it too quickly. I'll admit that I've only had it for about two months or so now, but so far it's managed to withstand 8 year olds for that amount of time, and let me tell you, that's an impressive feat. I taught kinder last year and would bet it'd be able to handle them with the right training as well. Best sharpener I've ever bought!

This is a fantastic pencil sharpener and perfect for my purposes at home. Makes my coloring and drawing so much more enjoyable. But when I had one in a classroom of 20 kindergarteners, it only lasted 8 or 9 months.

Woks well and the kids love it too.

Six weeks aftger purchase it broke. Cheap price should have been my warning, but thought X-Acto had a better reputation.

I like it. Works great and seems solid and I like that you can see when it needs to be emptied; however, I wish the point was just a tad sharper. It sharpens the pencil with a flat point of a few mm at the tip. Not a huge deal, but the older model left a sharper tip on the pencil.

We play board games at my house, and sometimes we get these cheap tiny little pencils in these games that are frustrating to use and not at all built to last not to mention not sharp. I've finally got around to get wood pencils to handle this ongoing problem as well as sharpen some pencils that make household markings, like hanging shelves, easy.I like this a lot. I had an older sharpener permanently "bored" by a family member who convinced herself it's hers. She can keep it. This one is better and eats a lot less wood to achieve the same results. I have had no issues so far, although I have not used it on colored pencils just yet. This is also easy for even the less savvy guest to use or a child for that matter.

A fellow teacher had this in her room and it works like a charm. I replaced mine and so far so good. It doesn't jam and it sharpens fast, so you avoid the sound for long periods with multiple people sharpening at the start of class. I do not allow colored pencils to be sharpened, so I do not know if it has the same result.

Sharpens to a perfect point every time. Easy to use and empty. I was going to buy it at a local craft store but it was much cheaper on Amazon.

The media could not be loaded. Really good sharpener at the beginning,but doesn't work after 4 months and leaves a little mess around so the sealing is not the perfect. For an expensive sharpener, I expect better and durability
