Amazing little Starter Kit. Great for first timers.
This drone is awesome its very light weight and rugged. If you are new to flying I do recommend starting out in the grass and using the supplied carry case as a lift off point as you can play with the throttle some and get the idea how a quad motor Drone works it is different than flying an RC Heli of course it’s more forgiving. Some bad points mine wasn't fully working right off the start so I opened up the controller to see the PCB was deeply scratched and solder points were touching on one of the chips so after cleaning that up running a new wire from one point to another to bypass the damaged PCB section of the controller it worked like a charm. The Controller Ant isn't in the Ant portion of the controller dangles inside and doesn't fit in where you would think it would go so I took off the dummy Ant and ran a new one from the PCB to a correct type of Ant with a leader at the end which in return made the Drone more responsive and increased the range of it by about double. The drone itself is very well made there is a slight issue with the battery bay and how it setup (this drone will support larger batt packs then it comes with. The batt Connector for the drone is free moving i.e. Using the solder points for its flexibility which puts un-needed wear on the drones PCB so I cut a notch in the drone Batt bay and gorilla glued it in place so the only cable that moves when connecting is the one for the battery pack.Reason for 5 Stars even for its few mild setbacks because when it is at 100% it is worth every penny. The amount you get with this pack and the honestly the hours of enjoyment makes it that much more worth it.

Potensic warranty and support of their products can be slow, but they do come through
My problem is not so much with the drone itself. It was a lot of fun to fly at first. Unfortunately, the connection between the controller and the drone has become very tenuous. It pairs ok, but randomly loses it's connection to the controller and drops out of the sky. Time and distance do not seem to be factors in when this happens. Sometimes it's within 10 seconds of flight and only 20 feet away; other times it's two or three minutes into flight and 100 yards away. I can frequently get it to re-pair before it hits the ground which is nice because I can soften the landing, but something is not working. My beef is that it's still supposedly under warranty, and we are getting zero support from Potensic (apart from suggesting we install fresh batteries in both the transmitter and the drone which we have done many times). So it would seem that you purchase products from Potensic 'as-is', don't expect help if you have trouble. RC Quadcopter, Potensic F183DH Drone RTF Altitude Hold UFO with Newest Hover Function,2MP Camera& 5.8Ghz FPV LCD Screen Monitor & Drone Carrying Case UPDATE: I'm upgrading my rating from 1 to 3 stars. A couple of weeks after I posted my original comment, Potensic reached out to me very apologetic that they had been so slow in responding to my concerns. In that time, I had opened the controller and found an errant solder that was bridging the antenna connection with an adjacent component. I repaired this and extended the internal antenna to go up inside the 'fake' plastic antenna on the controller. This completely fixed my pairing issues!! So I got the drone to work properly: I was so excited about this, that I took it outside and flew it despite the fact that it was windy. I lost the drone :(. I explained all of this to Potensic and they offered me a new drone at 30% off. So all in all, I'd have to say that Potensic came through in the end.

Never worked well, getting refund (hopefully)
Final update. I am requesting a refund because this quadcopter is a lemon. I see that it is still rated very high so I must assume that I must have received a bad one. I have had only 4 good flights out of this product. I have lost 3 motors and two batteries. Today I tried to take it out to fly again. It is a perfect day, 75º and practically no wind. I performed the pre-flight checks and everything checked out. So I tried to perform a test lift-off. As soon as I told it to lift off, the motors went to full speed the quadcopter leaned backwards hard and flew back at my legs so fast all I could do is jump out of the way. I tried to hit the emergency stop but it was too late, the quadcopter crashed full speed into my house. Luckily it was not damaged more and a couple scuffs. So I held the quadcopter down and performed some power tests on it. It turns out that when I first started the quadcopter the rotors spun as they should, but when I commanded it to lift (holding it from flying) one of the rotors stopped spinning. This would account for the heavy lean and uncontrollable flight. I repeated the experiment and this time two motors stopped turning. I no longer want this quadcopter, I've contacted Potensic for a refund. The problems I've had with this quadcopter are:*Left rear motor failed*Two batteries failed after only 3 flights*Developed a wobble causing me to spend hour replacing rotors and gears in an attempt to find the problem in the end I never found it but the wobble was less*Two motors failed today*The onboard controller may now be having problems. I can't really test it and I no longer wish to try.In all honesty I cannot recommend this product. My 14 year old sone has a Syma X5 that got caught up in a tree so high it took up a week to get it down and it rained on it during that time. He has had no problems at all as he's flown it maybe 15 times since he retrieved it from the tree. My Potensic F183DH has never been crashed (until today when it went crazy) and I've had nothing but trouble. This product is not worth the money and time I spent on it.===UPDATE===I am very disappointed with this drone. I can't keep it running. I have treated it very well and I have never crashed it. Yet today I took it out to fly it again and now it has a bad wobble. I tried replacing two of the rotors and I have not found what is causing the wobble. I can only get a couple flights and something goes wrong. I would love to fly it more, but I'm ALWAYS fixing something on it. I get more flying time from my $23 nano quad than my $229 quadcopter. If it doesn't get better I will return it and get a Syma like my son's. At least his flies.=======When it is working, this quadcopter is a blast. But after the third flight one of the motors gave out. After troubleshooting and ensuring that the shaft had not been damaged I was forced to replace the motor. I know that there is a strong argument to reduce weight, but I was forced to solder the motor wires directly to the control board. I'm and electrical engineer so it was not a problem, but many others who might enjoy this hobby may not have the skills to solder directly to a board without overheating and ruining the board. I'm also concerned that the motor burned out so quickly. I hope this is not an indicator that these motors don't last long. The weather has not been cooperating and I've not had too many chances to fly this quadcopter since the repair, but I hope to get many, many more flights before I am forced to replace a motor again.
