Color:White You know that childproofing your home is important to keeping your baby, toddler or preschooler safe, but most babyproofing products are virtually adult proof as well! Once you have those ordinary child locks in place, no one in the house can easily access drawers, cabinets and appliances. It doesn't have to be that way! With Vanguard Safety Adjustable Cabinet Locks, you can keep little ones safe without all of the hassles and inconveniences that come with an ordinary cabinet lock! Instead of a clamp or a fastener, these cabinet locks use an adjusting strap to keep doors closed. Installing the child safety lock is quick and easy and requires no tools or drilling. Just peel the backing off to reveal the 3M self adhesive and press the cabinet lock onto the front of the door and the side of the cabinet or appliance. When you need to access what's inside, push the button to release. Then, snap the strap in place to secure the cabinet lock again. It couldn't be easier! Vanguard Safety Adjustable Cabinet Locks are the only child locks that you need for: • Cabinets & drawers • Toilets • Bins & trash cans • Washers & dryers • Windows • Anything else that you want to stay closed Unlike other cabinet locks that come on a basic card back, the Vanguard Safety Adjustable Cabinet Locks come in an attractive gift box, so they're perfect as baby shower gifts. With Vanguard Safety, you get eight child safety locks per package, as opposed to the four or six that you'll receive from other brands. See how much easier childproofing can be with the right cabinet lock! Protect your little one with Vanguard Safety Adjustable Cabinet Locks, order your set now!

These are easy to install
These are easy to install. The latch opens easily, but not too easily for a child to open it. I have installed them in several locations. Some I would recommend others not.1. Dresser Drawer - My twins would pull the bottom corner to open the drawer. This has worked well I have not seen any compromise to the integrity of the strap.2. Sliding Closet Doors - I wished that the latch parts could be turned either direction on the strap to allow for an installation of the base end on the inside of the closet and the locking end on the glass. However this is the only way I found I could install these. They worked for about 6 months before the strap began to crack and eventually broke. I would think that these could be installed around a corner, however maybe not bent to this degree.3. Plastic Storage Drawers - Similar installation to the dresser I don't see any compromise to the strap. However it is not ideal for such a soft type of drawer. As you can see the front pulls out far enough for a little hand or arm to go in.4. Kitchen Sink Cabinet - I think this is the ideal use for this strap. I don't see a way that the strap would ever crack in this position. The door does have some give when the handles are pulled, enough for little fingers to go in but not enough to get anything out of the cabinet.

Only half actually work, but the ones that do are great
These are great!! When they work. The idea is that there is a latch on one side, and on the other you line up the strap which has notches on a white plastic piece that also has notches--you then slide together another white piece on top to secure the strap in between. This mechanism is permanent--once you have "secured" the strap, it never opens again. We found only about half of these actually held the strap--a slight pull on the strap and it would come all the way out. Since there are only 8 in the box, it was very frustrating. Packaging was nice. The ones that do work--work very well. Easy for adults to open but not the kid. Stays secured to the fridge/cabinets we are using them on and they were super easy to install (minus the time spent figuring out which ones would and would not work). Also, instructions don't say how to remove--I looked at the FAQ and saw where to use a hair dryer. We were able to quickly and easily remove them, and they didn't damage the surface at all. That's a definite plus!

My 2.5 year olds figured them out in 5 minutes. Not childproof.
Wanted to use these to put on drawer so that my 2.5 year old twins would stop emptying every single article of clothing out of their drawers every time we put them down for naps or bedtime. I put these on last night. Clothes are all over the floor again. They figured these out in about 5 minutes. They are WAY too easy for a child to figure out. I'm returning them immediately.

I did the best I could with the straps at the lengths they ...
I am frustrated with this product. They consist of a plastic strap with that is attached to a hard plastic "anchor", and a separate hard plastic "anchot" that you must attach yourself. Once that second hard plastic anchor is attached, I could not get it off to adjust the length of the plastic strap. 4 of the 8 units that I received already had the second plastic anchor attached. (I wonder if they were returned by a previous customer?) Upon opening the package and seeing 4 units already connected, I assumed they were supposed to be connected and connected the rest, (Yes, I know, user error). Then I realized my mistake upon reading the instructions and in the third paragraph down it says to use care when adding the second anchor because that sets the length of the plastic strap, and effects the functionality of the safety straps.I did the best I could with the straps at the lengths they were because I couldn't fix them. So I received a set where 4 were already at a fixed length, and then I messed up the other four. As a result, some of the cabinets I put these on don't seem to be super secure. I should have read the instructions first, but they need to make that particular instruction more prominent.I used these to cat-proof my kitchen, and it was time sensitive or I would have returned the product. But I will treat this as a temporary solution until I can figure out something better.
