Inconsistent, problems with bluetooth connectivity
12/15/2015 Update: I returned these and got a pair of Plantronics BackBeat PROs, and they are a much better headphone. Much better sound, better controls, and a built in battery monitor. I'm very happy with them so far, though they are a tad less comfortable and don't pack up as small.12/3/2015 Final Update: I've decided to return these. At this point they go completely silent 3 or 4 times in the course of a 30 minute meeting. They don't disconnect, they don't show any signs of a problem, but the audio goes away completely. This is over bluetooth. Others might have better luck with these, but these are not usable for conference calls over GoToMeeting.12/1/2015 Update: I've removed another star. I'm done with these headphones. This week the sound has cut out completely (in the middle of a meeting every single time) at least 4 times now. I wasn't moving, there was no interference, and the connection to the headphones was still recognized. Turning them off and turning them back on solved the problem every time. I was only connected to a single device (my computer), so it wasn't an issue with multiple inputs fighting to play sound. I want to like these headphones, but if they don't work properly then there's nothing I can do.11/30/2015 Update: I've removed another star. The headphones forgot all pairings again, this time I'm certain I just powered up the device. They were stored in my bag for the long weekend, and when I powered them up they were no longer paired to my phone or to my computer. I'm on the verge of returning these.11/25/2015 Update: I'm tempted to remove another star from these headphones. Twice now I have opened the case to find them in pairing mode, which apparently causes the headphones to forget all previously paired devices. They are easy enough to re-pair, but this has happened over the course of 3 days, so I can only imagine how many times I'm going to have to do this over the life of the headphones.UPDATE: Due to microphone issues I removed another star from the review. The microphone is so quiet that I'm forced to find another solution, which at this price point is simply unacceptable.I just got these yesterday, and here are my initial impressions:Good:* Comfortable. They fit fully over my ear (true over-ear headphones), are light weight, and are very adjustable to get the right fit for your head.* Easy to pair, with one caveat. I had no issues with the initial pairing to my phone or my computer, but after pairing them with my computer my phone seemed to be unpaired. I re-paired with my phone and was able to connect to both the phone and the computer simultaneously without issue. When powered on they automatically connected to my computer and phone.* Sound cancelling is decent for low frequencies. This morning there was a noticeable hum coming from the HVAC system, and flipping the switch made a very immediate and very obvious difference, completely eliminating all of the background hum and noise. I look forward to trying these on a plane. They do almost nothing to cancel normal human speech, I could hear my wife clearly with just the sound cancelling on, though I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing yet (probably good, but it depends on if a crowd of people will be annoyingly loud or not).Bad:* Sound leakage. I thought these might contain the sound a bit, but they almost act like speakers at moderate volumes to the people around me. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but if you want something that you can crank up and not bother other people, these aren't for you.Edit: I'm not sure how bad the sound leakage really is. I think in my zeal to test these out I had them turned up way louder than I normally would. At normal listening levels they don't seem to be so bad.* Sound quality. I am disappointed overall in the sound quality. It's not bad, per se, but I expected better at this price point. The highs are muddy with the sound cancelling off, and the bass is non-existent with the sound cancelling turned on. Ultimately I can use an EQ to get the highs tolerable with the sound cancelling off, but there isn't much I can do to fix the bass issue with it turned on. I plan on only using the sound cancelling when absolutely necessary for this reason. This is all over bluetooth, I have not yet tried a wired connection. If you are looking for a bass heavy headphone, this is not the pair for you. The sound quality is why I took a star off the review. I'm hoping that as the speakers break in the sound quality improves.Edit: Sound quality with the noise cancelling off seems better than my initial impressions led me to believe. I've been listening to a variety of things, including just regular dialog, and the highs are acceptable. There is still NO bass with the sound cancelling turned on.* Mic volume. I haven't tested it extensively, but the volume is lower than I would like it to be. It was fairly clear, though, so it should get the job done well enough.UPDATE: The mic is nearly useless. I tried it on a conference call through Google Hangouts, and I was told that I need to find another solution because the volume is too low. The mic volume is maxxed out through Windows, and other microphones work fine, so it's definitely a problem with the headset. This is a feature I need, though don't need to use very often. I'm very disappointed and I need to determine if I should return these headphones or not.Overall I like these headphones. The case provided is nice and slim and should pack away easily. The accessories and cables included seem to be of decent quality.

Rating dropped after two weeks of daily use, started strong now failing
Update to my review:After using the headphones everyday for two weeks there have developed some disappointing issues. The volume control now creates static when adjusted. Also, the volume control causes the right earpiece to cut in and out, I need to wiggle it to get sound in both ears. Last night the headphones made a horrendous screech while they were on my ears leaving my ears ringing - it was a terrible experience. They subsequently spotted pairing reliably with my phone. I'll be returning the headphones and likely won't ever try another Golzer product.Original review (I was quite pleased at first):Despite not having many reviews when I bought these, I took a gamble and I am very pleased with the result. My disclaimer is that I have never owned high-end headphones or noise-canceling headphones, so my preferences might be unrefined and unsophisticated. However, I am an actual person who paid for these with my hard-earned money and am quite annoyed with all the psuedo-reviewers who just copy and paste product descriptions... sorry that has nothing to do with this product, but I felt a moment of empowerment... on to the useful stuff :)I use these headphones to work in a building with constant background noise (laboratory in university with lots of vents sucking air, my building is also under construction so there are a lot of low-level grumbles due to machinery). With noise-canceling enabled, these headphones completely block out all the background noise... ah sweet relief. I also use the headphones everyday commuting on the subway and they make a huge difference, although they do not completely block out the rumbles and shakes of the train. For a comparison, with cheap on-ear headphones on the train I cannot hear music or podcasts even at full volume (this is why I invested in better headphones). I can now listen to podcasts and music at a very comfortable level while riding on the train and I no longer get a headache from the noise of the train. For me, this makes the headphones worth every penny of the $140 I spent on them. The performance of the headphones without noise-canceling turned on is not fantastic in my opinion. I find that the bass becomes a low-level rumble and that the headphones seem to isolate certain environmental noises and enhance them. Perhaps the noise-canceling has spoiled me. I have no way of knowing if this is normal behavior for this class of headphone, I find it a bit annoying although I still happily listen to music when the external environment is relatively quiet.I appreciate that the headphones are bluetooth and they work seamlessly with my Android phone, very convenient. They are super comfortable for me and I wear thick rimmed eye glasses, so that is very nice. They are also very light-weight and I have no disconfort using them for hours and hours and hours. I like that I can charge them while still using them, although sometimes the charging plug causes some weird clicking noises, but it only happens randomly and seems to have something to do with the USB port on my computer since I can wiggle the cord to get rid of the clicking. I like the hard case they provide because it lets me throw them in my messenger bag with concern for major damage. I don't feel like the small pouch in the case for the cords is useful for convenient everyday use, but whatever I just store the cords in a pocket of my bag and don't need to worry about them damaging the headphones. Also, the battery is so far quite reliable. I forgot to turn off noise-canceling last night and have now been using them for 5 hours today, including 2 on bluetooth and noise-canceling, so far the battery is still holding strong.Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and the product serves me very well.
