Loving this series which is one of my new faves, great characters, friendships and a cool cat!
When I read the first book in this series, I kept thinking it had all the components I love in a cozy mystery. The second book has all that and then some! I've really come to love Grammie, Iris and all the ladies in the girls' night. Along with the mystery, they deal with each others' lives, support each other and help others as shown in this book where Grammie, Madison and Iris went out of their way to help elderly neighbor Eleanor who needed a little snake removal (definitely not the crawly kind!) as well as helped her with some of her family's history. I was happy to see Eleanor get such a great outcome. This was such a well-thought out plot with quite a few suspects. I was never really sure whodunit, so I settled in and just enjoyed every bit of it from the crazy cardboard boat race to all the sleuthing adventures Iris had with her Grammie and friends to the rather chilling showdown. Go Quincy! That kitty needs a special treat after all that. Now I'm all caught up and ready for the next book when it comes out soon!

I am loving this series
I am really enjoying this new series so much. Iris is a great main character, she's a smart businesswoman, a great granddaughter, a loyal friend and incredibly invested in her hometown, business and the people she loves. The supporting characters are just as strong, you will enjoy Grammie, the "girls", Ian and of course Quincy, the cat! There is a good mystery with plenty of suspects but what I really enjoy about this series so far is that the characters are believable, Iris doesn't do stupid things, the story flows naturally, I don't ask myself what is she doing there, why did she ask that person that for. I eagerly look forward to more from this author!!!

Enjoyable Read
I enjoyed this second book in the series. There was a lot going on and it kept me entertained throughout. I was even surprised to learn a lot about seaweed. I didn't figure out who the killer was until late in the book. I always enjoy when that happens. I look forward tot he next book in this series.

Murder and Seaweed
This is the second book in this charming series featuring Iris who co-owns an apron shop with her grandmother. Buying vintage linens, Iris becomes involved in both uncovering a family secrets and members of an experimental aquaculture group.

Too Much Silly Romance
I usually read a cozy in 3 days (old eyes). This book took over 2 weeks. Hate to review it this way, but it's poorly written and all of the dopey romances get in the way of what is a good plot. Two good plots. But reading through dozens of unnecessary adverbs, plus Iris, her love life, and the relationships of all the other female characters (except for Grammie and the newcomer, Eleanor) slowed down any plot development.A big disappointment. Not recommended.

Aprons & lobsters & seaweed oh my!
It’s time for the annual Lobster fest in Blueberry Cove and Iris’s shop Ruffles&Bows is busier than ever with tourists. Her friends have roped her into festival activities like judging the lobster bib contest and participating in the box boat race, but how is she going to find time to hang out with her boyfriend, Ian?Looking to replenish her stash of antique aprons and linens she accepts an invitation to Stonehaven, an old majestic mansion, owned by a wealthy, elderly lady named Eleanor. To Iris’ great joy there are trunks filled with beautiful aprons and European linens in pristine condition. Eleanor shares that they had belonged to her mother who brought them with her when she emigrated from Belgium in the 1930’s. While purchasing the linens Iris runs into one of Eleanor’s paying houseguests for summer. A visiting marine biology professor from Belgium. He is there with his group to study and source seaweed and make it the next renewable energy source.Alas, tragedy strikes in the form of Iris discovering the young research assistant murdered. So she and her friends have two mysteries to solve. Who wanted the assistant dead and was it really over seaweed? And how did Eleanor’s mother, who started out as a nursemaid before marrying her father, have trunks full of expensive linens and couture? This book was a great second for the series. I loved getting to know the characters better and the Eleanor plot line was my favorite. I highly recommend this book.

Not as good as the first
It was a bit boring in same place and rushed in others. Could have been a bit shorter. But it is a nice way to spend some hours relaxing.
