The Raveling: The Complete Saga

First time that I’ve read this author and was very pleasantly surprised. Well written and unique. Worth the read. I’m about the start his follow up series.

I enjoyed this series very much. Character development was very good, for the most part. Though more was hinted at, it never materialized. The proof of a good story is that it leaves you wanting more, and this one certainly does. Thank you Mr Hutson, and please let us know how things work out for Chi Lin.

One of the best series I have read, end promises a sequel series in 2021 but is now 2024. Hope it is still coming. Recommend this to all fantasy fans.

Fast paced. Characters with flaws, but also heroic. A bit gruesome at times. Nice world building and consistent “rules of law/magic.” I debated between 4 star and 5 star. But the author really does write quite well …I liked it well enough that I am following the author and plan to read his other work.

How exciting it is to find a really talented author, which certainly describes Alec Hutson. Reading this trilogy I could not help comparing his writing style to George R. R. Martin. He paints a vivid illustration of his world using a vocabulary that is above the typical junior high level I find with many of the self-published Amazon books. His characters are believable and the action is paced so that I don't want to put the book down once started. This is one of the most enjoyable series I've read the past several years and I am eagerly looking forward to more work from Mr. Hutson.

I have very much enjoyed this set if books. It is full of many exciting scenes and intrigue. There are many twists and turns with several unexpected surprises. The story has a nice flow that keeps your interest. It is full of heart. The characters are well developed with true personalities. Whether good or bad you develop a relationship to them. I am sad I have finished the set but certainly plan on reading more stories by this author.

An engrossing and compelling tale that held my attention thoroughly throughout. The sense of adventure, fate and an outcome balanced on the blade of a knife was highly enjoyable

Read this trilogy straight through. Plenty of well developed characters, with the viewpoint changing with each chapter. Occasionally a little confusing but, on the whole, it worked.Kept me turning the pages & lost a few hours of sleep for ‘one more chapter’.The ending leaves options for more books & I believe there is another series (trilogy?) to follow.

This series is definitely worth reading, the world has the sort of fascinating mystery that makes epic fantasy stories fun, and the characters have depth that is lacking in many stories in this genre.

It has taken me ages to find these books, this author, and I am so glad I have finally discovered him. His writing kept me enthralled through all three of the Raveling’s books and I will now explore his other adventures. Brilliant story, really well written, thank you.
