MaxviewMXL050 Roam Mobile 3G/4G Wi-Fi System for On The Go Internet in Caravans, Motorhomes etc ideal for Smart TVs

I just purchased and fitted a maxview roam to my caravan i found it very easy to fit with my skills a good d.i.y skills person can fit this just take your time and double check your measurements for the aerial hole i check my hole 4 times before i was happy it came out just inside the front corner of the locker and router just inside the locker below the aerial keeping close to main switch panel the hardest job was running the ethnet cable to the tv position for my smart tv. Since i fitted the system i have not been impressed with the operation of the system as i only use my caravan between April & September i use pay as you go sim card getting the the router to pair up with any device is nearer impossible its only paired twice in the 12 months i have had the system fitted ,I have followed the set up instructions several times only had my phone and tablet connect once never the laptop so i am very disappointed the whole system

Having struggled a bit at times with mobile coverage on caravan sites I thought this product would be a good way of improving signal. How wrong! It is the biggest heap of junk I have ever bought. Tethering to phone still better. The unit constantly drops signal and fails to work every time we go away, just wastes an hour or more of my time getting the thing to work. I would rip it out but left with a nice 25mm hole in the caravan roof. Totally useless!

Great signal from this unit using a SIM card called “ smarty” worked in the Shetland’s too but dropped out a bit west coast of Scotland but that’s because of the mountain ranges

we didn't install sent back for a refund as we set up and tried connecting before drilling a hole in our motorhome roof etc glad we did as no matter what we did following instructions it would not connect to either our home internet or sim card both working fine with full signal

I have to say I was a bit sceptical on buying this but when I fitted it and put the data Sim in it worked perfect

What looks like a good product turned out to be shocking.Last week I was away in my motorhomeI tried most network sims and the best I got was 6-7 mpbh with a 02 sim in my iPhone I was getting over 45 mpbh when I put that sim in the roam I got 5 mpbh also the app is terrible.I was left very disappointed.I contacted Maxview and was advised to try many things none worked they asked me to send it back to them for testing or replacement that was good to know but after only buying a week earlier I decided to return and get my money back.

Fairly easy to install and set up. Just like any other WiFi connection it can be a bit sporadic, but still helps when the TV aerial connection is poor, as you can use BBC iplayer etc. when using a ROKU box or an Amazon fire stick.

We are permanent caravan dwellers and have tried all makes and kinds of data only internet modules and dongles, but finally we have the answer with the maxview roam and an EE SIM card. We can now download and stream without buffering 👍😀
