Q: Can the usb c port be used for transfering data or is it only used for charging?

To be perfectly clear the USB-C port can only be used for charging, not data. I hooked this up to my iPad Air (5th gen) and could see Ethernet show up in settings but attempting to hook up anything to the USB-C port did not show up.

Q: Will this work on the 2018 iPad Pro?

The Belkin adapter is not tested to work with the 2018 iPad Pro, ruthooi.

Q: does this work with windows 10? (have lenovo new yoga900)

I have a Dell XPS-15 running Win10. Works fine.

Q: Will this device work with Linux?

For me, the adapter works with Centos 7 and Ubuntu 20.04.
