DO NOT USE ON HIGHLY VALUABLE ITEMS. The locks are okayish in quality. The look okay, numbers are easy to read without glasses, every number has a click in it and the of course the long shackle helps in some occasions. My only problem with this lock is that it is very easy to unlock if you understand how the mechanism inside works. I'm not a lock pick maestro or even a beginner but I was able to unlock it with my eyes closed. The clicks in the numbers have a certain pressure change while turning them and if you feel it, you can unlock it. Unlike combination locks, these are faster to use but not very secure. Now, the build quality was alright for the price and it is as described.

Locks are decent for keeping my fence locked. The story, you get what you pay for definently applies here. I ordered 2 packs. 1 of the 4 does not work. I would not use these locks for anything of importance or high value.

I've used keyed padlocks for years for my sheds, lockers, trailers, etc. I finally got tired of forgetting the key, leaving it in my pocket to be washed or worse, the futile gesture of hiding it on the top of the door frame. Maybe the combo lock is easier to pick or break (?), but quite honestly a small pair of bolt cutters doesn't really care if it's a keyed or combo lock. So for convenience to the owner these combo locks are far less of a hassle. No more look of shame when my wife finds the key in my pocket when doing laundry!!

This is a nice lock set but once i put it in my chain link fence i could no longer see the combination. had to almost stand on my head to get it opened again. for that reason i would not recoment this lock.

These seem good. Time will tell how they hold up to the elements. So far so good. One lives on hose spigot cover that is to keep a 3yo out. The spigot drips when u first shut it off so the lock gets wet. I love that they come set to 0000 and just turning a couple tumblers is enough to lock it for our purposes. The long hasp makes it easier to see the numbers.

I set one lock correctly the first time. The other lock I believe moved numbers while I was "turning" the handle back after setting the lock. I was stuck with a lock that was in the locked position and I did not know the combination. Another post said you can "feel" the numbers and doing this I was able to reopen the lock with some fiddling. So, when you set the numbers perhaps hold the numbers with your thumb as you turn it back to avoid these moving. The lock is working fine on the top of my car securing a kayak. It has been in the rain several times. Seems to be working just fine.

The "little pin" never pushed down into the slot. Even with the best effort pushing it down, all that would happen is that the numbers in the dial would start to move if I tired the second turn with the pin down as far as I could get it. This held for both the locks. At this point, even if I could get them to work I wouldn't as I couldn't trust they would malfunction and I would have to cut them off. For the expense, it's not worth my time and effort to deal with returning them, so in the garbage they go. Based on the percentage of similar reviews there is about a 7-8% failure rate in manufacturing; that's pretty pathetic.

I got these locks to keep our dumpster locked preventing illegal dumping. So far they have worked well and I don't have to remember to bring my key out when emptying our trash. This is my second pack of them, occasionally the lock will snap if we don't latch our gravity bar across a certain way but I don't blame the lock on this, it is our fault for that. Directions for setting the passcode were simple and was able to use right away.
