Excellent sound Quality
I bought this to replace my old Denon DM41. The AXR100D has excellent sound quality especially when using my Q Acoustics 3030i speakers and 2070 sub woofer. I am retired but computer literate but it would be useful, if possible, to have a copy of the manual boxed with the kit so those that are not computer literate can set up their AXR100D

First timer
My first purchase into the world of hifiDoes a job. Would have like the bass and treble controls to be more accessible.Decent sound but I just know I’m going to want to upgrade it before too long when money permits. Reasonable entry level unit though.

Fine product that integrates many audio visual system parts in to one.
I bought to replace a defunct 80's amplifier. I wanted a digital receiver and the ability to integrate all my equipment and TV. Generally pleased with the sound and the sound stage, the mix of digital and analogue inputs is excellent. I can use my TVs optical output to put the sound through the hi-fi speakers. The CD now works through a line input rather than my previous amp which tended to overload the inputs, and the phono input is via a Cambridge AVO MC pre-amp. The digital radio and FM both work well though the setting of the pre-sets is not easy.Only downside is the device has an internal fan which is audible during silences in the audio, most of the time it's not audible but if you mute the sound you can hear it quietly purring away. The remote is a bit plastic as well, but that's minor it controls everything well.I did not want to spend a fortune on a new part of the system and this fitted my bill easily.

Ok but annoying issue.
The receiver ok not great at picking up stations but just using supplied aerial. One annoying aspect it resets the volume to a pre programmed level every time you switch it on or off. So you bet it just right for the location it’s in. Then have to do it every time you switch on. Also only Bluetooth receiver no transmitter so had to buy one for my headphones. Wish I just bought the cx version instead instead of AX. Might upgrade in future.

The Cambridge Audio AXR100D is a fantastic ‘all-rounder’
The Cambridge Audio AXR100D is a fantastic ‘all-rounder’ for £500 and one could stop right there. You can pretty much hook up anything to it, as I did, including my TV, DVD, CD, turntable, sub, speakers, etc. It works seamlessly with all components and delivers enough power and is so user-friendly that you need not think or worry about it once connected. The DAC is good but you may have a better one in the CD player, as I do. The sound difference is obviously clear. The only negligible setback is the DAB is not very receptive. Otherwise, nothing comes remotely close in this price range.

Rubbish
I sent mine back after I found the sound quality was awful and the build quality was cheap. No functionality on the amp and a massive delay on the remote control. The worst amp I have ever owned. I went back to my old amp kenwood kr-v8040 and this amp pissis all over the Cambridge amplifier. Don't buy this amp go and look for anything but this one.

Excellent sound
Great sound and articulate , only thing it seems a little bass light but overall typical Cambridge quality soundstage only downside the remote control sensitivity is appalling

I have good Mission speakers, and the receiver is such a quality sound!
I worked for my university radio in California, and know what sounds very good, this is the best I've ever had! I don't need to look further, the CD player I have from them is gapless, so there is no obvious dead space between tracks, all seamless .
