Connect the Testaments: A 365-Day Devotional with Bible Reading Plan

I bought this book in December 2017 because I wanted a devotional that would take me through the Bible in one year (2018) and that would keep me wanting to come back on a daily basis. I've had various devotionals in the past that contained the Bible-in-a-year reading plans but had mediocre devotionals. This book, Connect the Testaments, has a great devotional message for every day of the year. I've yet to find one that hasn't made me think long and hard about something in my life and how I can better myself in my relationship with God. The book is easy to read and gives great examples of how God's word affects us in our everyday lives, not just on a day to day basis but over a lifetime. I like the fact that the devotionals are Bible-centered and make me question myself and make me think. Too many devotionals are based on stories from the writers' personal lives and experiences and not on the basic tenets of the Bible. The Bible reading plan is made up of three passages per day, two from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament, and each day's devotional goes along with a portion of the readings. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good Biblical devotional with a reading plan.UPDATE (November 10, 2018): Almost through the year with this book, the only problem I've run across thus far is that in a number of instances a Bible reading doesn't pick up where it left off the day before, either due to a typo or editing, and a couple other printing mistakes, pointing to some needed additional proofreading. I also feel that stretching Job through 3 months (August, September, October) is a bit much. Other than that, I still recommend and give the maximum number of stars.

A wonderful find for me! I came across this book on the Faithlife Bible Study app and started reading the referenced Scripture only and the short daily devotional by the writers, and found the format and layout very meaningful and doing exactly what the title suggests, connecting spiritual truths from the OT and the NT. Some of the devotionals only pull out application from a specific passage, and some combine a general applications from the daily reading. Nevertheless, for me, it adds a wonderful dimension to a daily Bible reading plan and helps this A.D.D. person stay on task better!

Giving God all the praise the glory and the honor for leading me to this wonderful book that "connected" the Old and New Testament with a taste of "poetry" each day. The daily "lessons" helped to explain how the different passages were indeed connected. Thank you for guiding me through this 365 -day journey to read the Word of my Lord and Savior. "I have set the Lord always before me, because He is at my right side, I shall not be moved!"

I'm not one to pick up a devotional reading, but I really enjoyed reading through this devotional and it was completely unlike any others. Not only was there a devotional to read, but the reader also has the opportunity to read through the entire Bible in a year.

I like the bible reading plan for the year that allows you to read from multiple different passages in a day. I also think the authors comments on each day are spot on and quite thought-provoking

This is a great daily read to keep you in touch with the Lord of Heavens. I read this daily. Opens my eyes to the heavenly places.

Easy to follow on a daily basis and a excellent way to start your day. Does not require a lot of time out of your busy schedule but gives you a lot of insight into how to live your day and perform good deeds while interacting with other people. A good learning tool for living a better life.

Good product

We have been looking for a good family devotional book. This book not only suits that purpose but also provides an opportunity to study the entire bible in a year. Great book !
