Works good day or night.
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: I confirmed with the seller that the unit was defective and returned the unit. The first one didn't record at night. After returning the first unit, getting a refund and purchasing another unit -- this unit works well in the day and night. The mirror is huge and I couldn't go back to the tiny mirror that this cam is attached to. I hooked the unit up with a 10 foot mini USB cord instead of the lighter charger that was provided so that I could use a lighter charger that had multiple USB ports. Charges fine with the USB port. The second unit didn't come with an SD card, even though I sent the one I had back to them. I've attached some of my footage day and night driving. This is at 1080p. At this price, this dash cam is worth it. If you are up for a little trial and error on the settings...the manual is kinda worthless.

Works fine for a year...
I purchased this in September of 2016. When I first received the product, it seemed fine and worked well. I had little complaints about it with the exception of the annoying bright blue light that keeps flashing that I couldn't seem to turn off. The mirror itself is convex so it gives you a wide field of view, which I liked, and does not have any color tint like another unit that I have for a different vehicle. The video quality is manageable (pretty good considering the price). I used it continuously for slightly under a year and then the screen suddenly went out and the unit doesn't work anymore, out of the blue. It boots up fine for about 5 seconds and then the screen crashes and turns hazy gray like back in the day when your old CRT TV wasn't getting any signal.I should've known better for this price point to expect anything more but had high hopes after using the unit for the year-ish timeframe where it worked well. Bummed that other people here have had no luck with contacting the company for warranty and don't know if it's worth my time to bark up that tree.In the end, my assessment is this: you're likely (like myself) getting this unit for important reasons of safety and security. I have another mirror unit like this from a different company I bought off Amazon that is going strong for 2 years and has served as evidence for 2 accidents to show that I was completely not at fault. (to be fair, the other unit has an annoying blue tint and shakes too much from vehicle vibrations so it's definitely not perfect...but it works at least!). Due to the important nature of this type of device, I strongly suggest paying slightly more (about double seems to be the price point of reliable units, I have 3 other (all different) black box camera units that were all $60+ and less than $100 that all work well beyond 2 years (so far, cross my fingers). Stay away from this product and buy something more reliable.

Best dash cam I have owned.
I have been using the unit since April 2016. It has many features. But first let me tell you that it clamps securely to the rear view mirror. The camera itself is mounted on a small unit the extends from the bottom of the mirror and can be canned left and right. The mirror is blue tinted and can either be used as a regular mirror or you can leave the monitor on all the time. You can also set the monitor to shut off automatically after several seconds (time is adjustable). It is blue tooth enabled so you can use your phone and talk through it and best of all the control are right on the front panel. The power cable is about 10 feet long and easily wraps around the perimeter of my windshield (E250 Van), under the dash and up to the electrical socket. They even include clips to hold the cable in place. You can it to record video at various definitions and can record audio if you so desire. The sweep is enough to cover an entire intersection so you can argue the "who ran the stop sign" thing. The only negative is that is is not great at night time. You can manually adjust the setting to brighten the image but it is not automatic.I also enjoy that I can take it off the van and install it in my wife's Honda Accord when we travel. It is a good rear view mirror and the tinting cuts down the glare.
