A Brave Woman. And the Myth of the Fastest Growing Religion
From her first few sentences: "For the first thirty years of my life, I live as a virtual slave. I was a bird in a cage; a second-class citizen who had to watch what I said even to my close friends. Under Islamic law I had to live in a gender-segregated environment and always be aware that the legal and social penalty for 'sin' could end my life. "Since I read the Koran in the spring of 2013, I concluded it was a mis-mash of hate speech for Jews, Christians and other infidels that displeased the prophet. Yes, and women. Due to all the threats of death in the Koran, I believe it takes an exceptionally brave person - especially women - to leave this barbaric political system known as Islam. As stated by Ms. Darwish, "Converting non-Muslims to Islam remains the primary goal for Muslim society, and that can be done through intimidation, fear, financial loss, jihad" and even Sharia courts. Mrs. Darwish does a great compare/ contrast from Muslim country to the free world. "God is gracious and forgiving was an exciting revelation to me." she writes. We in our western civilization take these liberties for granted - let us remember the people over the years, decades and centuries that fought and died to keep us FREE. And Islam - the fight is to enslave people into a system that one can't leave. or question. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" the prophet who was above his own laws, and we know the higher up the chain of command the more one is freed from the constraints of the law applying to oneself. Imams to point their accusing finger of execution, stonings and beatings to those lower in society - women mainly. Years ago, when we began fighting the Al Quada in Afghanistan, a woman reporter had video of the Muslim men executing blue burka clad women kneeling in a soccer stadium that the UN had built. My heart bled for those poor women. I grieved and prayed that one day they could have the freedoms I have. We have no information on how these women are living now. No news teams to show some good that has come from a long hard war. To know that women couldn't leave the house without a family male escort, educated women, widows, begging in the streets because they weren't allowed to work any longer. The whole country shut down in the worst barbaric way - then spreading the Islamic war to us the FREE WORLD. All for the price of a plane ticket to the USA and points West. I thank Ms. Darwish for her exceptionally brave story, her insight, & for her freedom. All the rules, laws, and abject oppression of women under the barbarism of Islam are strange to us Western women. These murder scenes in that sad soccer field haunts me when I see a hijib clad woman.Sections/Chapters are: Part I: Sharia the Family; The Roots of Sharia; The Marriage Contract: The Lock on the Gender Cage; Women: The Center of Oppression; Men: The Illusion of Power; Part II: Sharia: The State; Life Behind the Muslim Curtain; A Dictator's Dream; Egypt: A Case Study; Getting Away with Murder; Epilogue: Islam Without the Sword?""We will take over Europe and America from within through immigration", the oft repeated threat that STILL GOES ON - our politicians are blind to the Koran, believing groups that whisper 'the religion of peace' , and wish to limit our freedoms to be critical of Islam, to question the motives of a 7th century barbarian whose hate speech comes in a close second to Adolph's Mein Kampf? We surely need to wake up - and I highly recommend reading Ms. Darwish's incredible book. God Bless you.God Bless you Ms. Darwish.

A Must Read for Every American
Book was exactly what I was expecting. And it arrived rather quickly. Everyone should read this book. It provides the knowledge and awareness that all Americans need in this day and time. It's scary to imagine what is out there. People who claim to be peaceful and friendly have a secret agenda set forth by their religious beliefs. Nothing could be more scarier. This book gives new meaning to the word "frenemy".

Profound expose' of sharia law
Having read Nonie Darwish's first book I looked forward to reading this one and was not disappointed. Darwish clearly documents the true nature of sharia law and in particular its profound affect on Muslim women. It is a clear wake up call to the west and clearly shows what living under sharia law would be like. I trust many will read this book and become informed.

So far, an excellent book
Very well written but I haven't finished reading it yet. Amazon needs to give a little more time before they ask for a review. Some people don't have that much time to start reading a book as soon as they get the book. I had the book for three weeks before I even had time to start reading it. I hope to finish reading it this weekend.

This book has given me a frightening look into what ...
This book has given me a frightening look into what the teachings of the religion of Islam wants. Something must be done to prevent this radical religion from fulfilling their quest of having Islam as the only religion. This book should be required reading for every elected official in Washington DC.

so sad. this is an important subject
Although still reading this book I feel it necessary to make a few points.this is a very informative book, but I feel the writer has spoilt her message of the data gets of sharia by I fusing this book with God.human rights are not God given,as stated in this book,no religion treats people equally.to have sentences such as"Sexual slavery is appalling to all human beings, even atheists"page38,is bigotted in the extreme.so sad.this is an important subject, and to insert your own agenda(religious) beliefs taints the whole book for me.Sharia is dangerous for everyone,we are all apostates to some degree, some are apostates to all religions.Caring about people suffering is not what only religious people do,I fact .any do not care enough,as this author has shown by her prejudices against atheists but not muslim apostates.
