Straight James / Gay James Paperback – January 1, 2016

I read these poems in a span of twenty minutes, they're addictive. He derives his art from his own imagination, experiences, and passions. If you're looking for solid art and literature, and thought provoking poems, this is a must. I've read each poem numerous times, and still see the genius and brilliance in his words and hidden meanings.

Comical, & interesting in one. I enjoy James Francis visual & lyrical work, he is very talented! The second half of the poems are more interesting that's the first half of the poems. I'd def recommend to any James Franco fan or someone who is looking for a quirky read.

I had seen some of Franco's movies before but didn't take much notice of him because I don't really care about the male actors except for maybe one or two. Then one day I clicked on his IMDB page because he looked familiar. Then I saw that he was credited with an amazing 15 movies in the year 2015. I had never seen that before. I then noticed that he considered himself to be literary since he acted in and directed two adaptations of Faulkner. I then saw that he had a book so now I'm think 'ok this guy's different'. The poems were actually quite good. We live in the middle of a fad where what poets do is basically just utter incoherent nonsense and they pass that off for profundity. Fortunately, Franco is not part of this fad. I liked the poems because they at least gave me an idea of what this guy thinks about and what makes him tick. I wish the book was longer but at least he wrote something.

I love all the things James Franco creates because he is of limitless talent, so maybe I'm biased. I enjoyed these poems very much and I especially enjoyed the "wtf?" moments I had while reading them. The interview he does is also very attention capturing. You never really know what the real James Franco is all about and that's what makes his work so fun to read. 5 Star rating. Get the book.

This volume collects poems from various sources, mostly magazines. It is a convenient way for those of us who have James' first book of poems to have everything 'together'. His work is for those of us already familiar with his style, and also those who are interested in discovering more about the man and his art.

I very much enjoyed Franco's poetry minus the self interview. I came to realize that James Franco is the rebel that Hollywood needs today. I will say that at times I would have rather read a few of the pieces as an essay vs in poem style. But that is just personal taste and doesn't take away from the quality of writing this book has.

Only Franco's public persona makes it interesting. As far as literature goes, it is poorly written. Not worth a second reading.

If you like James Franco and Lana's art then it's just the best poem collection for you. I read it in one sitting cause of how much I loved the content, 5/5.

Etant fan de James Franco, c'est tout naturellement que j'ai voulu acheté ses livres afin d'en savoir plus sur ce personnage complexe.Etant bilingue, l'anglais ne me dérange absolument pas, mais il reste assez simple pour que vous le compreniez.Les poèmes sont supers est très bien fait.Un talent en plus à ajouté sur la liste !

Una mente brillante, ribelle e libera dagli schematismi sociali. Semplicemente e complicatamente James Franco. Adoro il suo pensiero in cerca costante di sfida, con il mondo (il suo e quello degli altri) e con se stesso in primis. Non a caso si auto-intervista riguardo la propria arte e la propria natura sessuale che si divide tra l'Io pubblico e l'Io "privato". Secondo lui sono forse maschere, secondo noi seguaci della sua ribellione artistica sono le mille sfaccettature che ci fanno innamorare dell'icona che ormai impersona. Un James Dean reincarnato in un sorriso che accartoccia meravigliosamente il suo volto tanto quanto il cuore di chi lo stima. Tutti i suoi libri sono da leggere in lingua originale, assolutamente.
