If you don't have this tool for changing your oil, then you need to get it. I don't know how I didn't get along with it.What i really like about this product is that it's anodized in black, and not chrome. Chrome is nice a shiny, but chips.The black finish makes it not so much of a big deal if you get oil on it. It hides the oil very well.I use it to take off the oil filter on my 2008 VW jetta TDI. I used to use a channel locks to get the plastic cap off of the oil filter. After scuffing up my knuckles an about ruining the cap, i broke down and got this socket make the oil changer easier. I usually wisen up after awhile.

Great on the equinoxHave a 2013 equinox that has a really bad location on the filter cap. I use this with a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter and a 12" 1/4 extensionIt works ok with just a 3/8 extension but you have to insert it off angle so you need a thin universal joint or wobble extension.I've found that the adapter and 1/4" extension fits between the items on top better.1/2" extension is totally no go which is why I bought this in the first place.Fit an finish is good I expect this to be a lifetime item... unless I lose it.
