Cascade Complete Powder All-in-1 Dishwasher Detergent - 75 oz - Fresh - 2 pk

This is very good dishwasher detergent, and at an excellent price. However it suffers from the absence of phosphates, which were removed years ago from all detergents. Up until recently, you could buy Cascade Boil Out which was, as near as I can tell, Cascade Complete plus tri-sodium phosphate but it's no longer available. You can restore the phosphate by adding a 1 lb package of Savogran TSP (Tri Sodium Phosphate), sold here on Amazon, to the box of Cascade Complete. Pour both into a large container and mix thoroughly. I use a large Gladware resealable container to store the mix. 1 tablespoon in a dishwasher load does the trick. I also put about 1 teaspoon in the pre-wash cup. Sparkling clean dishes with no film. One warning. Don't buy the Savogran TSP-PF in the green box, since it does NOT contain phosphate.

I've purchased this many times, and also have tried many other products and brands. And I keep coming back to this powdered detergent. It seems to work well, I don't get spots left behind and all food is removed and dishes are left clean. What I really like is that there doesn't seem to be a scent left behind on the dishes and especially on the cups that usually bugs me. But this doesn't do that. It absorbs well and doesn't leave any residue in the dishwasher either. The way pods tend to. Excellent value as well. Win win

This is such a good, low cost option for dishwasher detergent. A box lasted me about 6 months, and got my dishes squeaky, beautifully clean. There's no mess left over in the detergent compartment or anything. Compared to the price of other detergents, this one's so low. I always check prices per ounce, or serving, or lb when shopping on Amazon, since they're clearly listed when browsing, and this one wins in price, and is also so effective.

How can you beat the low, low, low price of this Cascade DW powder? You can't. It's so good at cleaning, and only 9¢ per ounce! I'm guessing it's approximately 9¢ per regular full load (2 Tbl = 1 ounce). Look at the (micro)plastic wrapped pods' prices. That's a BIG difference just to not have to pour it out. Seems silly to me.Here are some tips:I have very hard water in my rental, no water softener. Often there will be a film that vinegar can get rid of, by hand washing after, but who wants to do that? Not me. Trying to justify the more expensive DW detergents I looked at their ingredients.Huh - they simply add "Citric acid"! Then charge 3x the price ! Citric acid is inexpensive, made from the peels of citrus like lemon, grapefruit, etc., so it's also environmentally friendly, and so it's also less chemicals in our homes and Mother Earth. I buy that in powder form (a wind Mill pictured on front of package) and add about 1-2 teaspoons, basically just covering the bottoms of the soap and prewash pockets. (There's lots of other uses for citric acid BTW). Then fill the rest of the pockets with Cascade powder (using less or more depending on how dirty &/or how many items there are). Perfect! Glasses are clear and dishes sparkle, everything is clean!Now, 1 reason we're buying powder is to eliminate Plastic right?Another is to better regulate the amount of DW detergent we use per the type & size of load, but also...Ever have a pot or pan that, oops! got burnt crud on the bottom somehow? Simply put some Cascade in it, a spoonful or so, fill with enough hot water to cover burnt areas and soak overnight. It'll be so easy to clean in the a.m.!If it's really bad, or it didn't clean it completely, do same but boil the water & Cascade for 10 minutes B4 leaving it to soak a minimum of a few hours, best overnight. You'll be amazed!How are people getting the DW powder wet?!? (a few reviews complain about clumping...). They can't pour apparently (even tho any spillage will simply do the prewash bit) and the wrapped cardboard container (again, not plastic, yay!) surely will get wet if lots of water/liquid gets on it. If it's sitting in liquids obviously the detergent will then get wet also and ultimately dry in clumps, not powder anymore. Huh???What are they doing getting it so wet in the 1st place? Don't understand this basic logic, unless maybe they're trying to justify the $$$ cost of plastic pods to cover their laziness and lack of basic skills? Seems easy enough to me to keep it dry. And takes what? a few extra *seconds* to pour vs throwing in a plastic pod. And believe me, I am no Suzy Homemaker.All in all, at 1/10 - 1/3 of the price of plastic wrapped pods, even with the additional citric acid, you just can't beat Cascade powder! I won't use anything else. Highly recommend!

I keep going back to granules the pods put horrible micro plastic into our waterways and ultimately in all our bodies.Most of the time pods break into granulated anyways when cramming the compartments to close. I have hard water I pre-rinse and fill up both compartments then add about a tablespoon more into the bottom of the machine. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones to order it prime next day and still have an intact box though a few granules leaked out the box came sealed in a bag so that works for me since the price is good and I always pour it into another container to protect it from coastal humidity. Cascade works amazing a little on a damp sponge for hand scrubbing really baked on stainless steel pans and baking dishes, they don't even need to go in the machine.

I give it 5 stars although the pods or the little pouch in tri colors with multi-ingredients are better overall.The advantage of the powder is that you can dose it to your need and a part for saving few bucks, you pollute less, and it may be healthier for you and your septic if you ever have one.We have soft water in Manhattan, (at least that....) so we need less detergent in general, especially with one of the modern Dishwasher (we have a Bosch 800 series).The little pouches either from Cascade or Finish leave the glasses more sparkling and fully transparent, the powder over time will make the glasses foggy, even while using the best rinsing agent from Finish.

Cascade has always been a great product! Dishes come out clean! No streaks, dries quickly and powder dissolves easy!

Works better than the pods for way less.I refer to Technology connections on youtube for the full reasoning.But use the prewash cavity. It really helps
