Best map case I've used canoeing
I've used multiple map cases in wilderness canoeing, where keeping maps dry both on the water and during portages is critical. All have failed over the course of a 7-9 day trip with lots of portages and heavy packs -- except these. These appear to be ready to make a 2nd trip or more. No real wear on the attachment of the clear plastic to the fabric reinforcement. Straps are well attached too. What water did get inside the case seemed to get in when opening the case to write a time or note a landmark. If one was careful when doing this, the map stayed dry. Just remember to press the zip-seal, and not just the Velcro.

Great map holder for field but wary on its durability/waterproofness
I bought this because I wanted to put field maps in it to be protected from dirt and other factors. Most importantly, because it has a strap that I can carabine to my backpack. For MY use, I like that I can leave it dangling on the side and quickly pull up with my hand when needed. The case seems like a giant ziploc (it does have a ziploc sealer) bag with the plastic fabric stitched around it. While the think vinyl works great in minor rain, I don't see the case 100% waterproof should there be a major storm or if the map case becomes submerged in liquids. I do see minor fibers around the stitching becoming detached in hair lengths and thickness. I think the case is great for medium duty but wouldn't depend on it when the wraths of mother nature wishes to appear.

Nice. But
I think it’s over done with materials. But just my opinion, maps might need to be folded to fit but that’s a given. I didn’t have in rain. If I was I’d get waterproof one. This one works great for exploring battlefields of civil war. I folder mine into 1/4 and put in a wynex chest pack

Waterproof, works great!
We do a ton of kayak trips down rivers and through water systems where there is no gps and we have to rely solely on maps. So keeping them safe and dry is imperative. If the map gets ruined we could potentially get lost in thousands of acres of wilderness. This case has been great. It’s the perfect size for our maps and keeps them dry while being able to see the entire area of map we need without having to worry. Love it!

Not waterproof
I was super excited to use this case on a 6 hour adventure race. The rigidity of the plastic made it so I could easily strap it to my bike handle bars and read the map while biking, this worked perfect. Unfortunately I found out that it is not fully waterproof after my swim section. Since maps are so important in this type of racing I had triple checked the seal on the case but I suspect water leaked in around one of the seams. I’m hoping this is maybe just a defective case and replacing fixes the problem. If you’re not swimming with maps it’s a great case.

Works great to safely keep your 10" tablet
It is a bit larger than my 10" tablet but I don't care. It fits, it protects, and that's what I care about. Easy top rolling closure with Velcro. If I'm caught out in the rain, I may get wet, but my tablet won't. I can easily fit my large phone in it as well. If your out in the weather you won't have to worry about your devices. Great product!

Expect Long Life
Arrived yesterday, so no report of useful life, but after opening it up to put my map inside, I am sure it will last a long time.

worked fine for 6 day wilderness canoe trip
No issues from me. I made sure to zip the case closed and then also close the velcro closure. I never immersed it but it certainly had water from rain and paddling. I like that it folds up and can be secured via lanyard if desired. It was exactly what I hoped it would be for my one short canoe trip.
