Rainy evening park scene is beautiful
I recently discovered 5D crystal painting and it has moved to my #1 slot of favorite crafts, beating out coloring. It's similar to "paint-by-number", only using small flat back "crystals" (which can be opaque or transparent and they can be round or square in shape). Each project has a pre-printed scene and it may involve only "painting" part of the picture, or it may be that you "paint" 100% of it. The part of the picture that you "paint" has a layer of adhesive already on it. It is covered in a plastic sheet that you want to only expose the parts you are working on in order to avoid dust and oil from your skin ruining the adhesive. Each crystal color has a corresponding number, letter or symbol on the picture. You use an included "pen" to pick up the crystals and apply them to their corresponding squares on the picture. Also included is a small pink square of adhesive for the "pen" which helps pick the crystals up (although I've literally completed dozens of these projects and so far am still on my first square of adhesive. One last thing included is a tray to pour the crystals in (one color at a time). I have always had a lot more crystals than I needed, but that's a good thing because it is extremely easy for these things to go flying if bumped wrong or not paying attention. A couple of the projects I've purchased also came with a pair of craft tweezers. I rarely use these, but if I need to try and pick up a crystal that is adhered, these do help.HERE IS WHAT I'VE LEARNED TO LOOK FOR BEFORE PURCHASING:1. Actual size of the picture -- don't pay attention to the stock pictures displayed in home settings as they are very misleading as far as size of the project. Many are shown on a wall behind a couch and appear to be many feet long, but in reality may only be a foot long. Be sure to get the actual measurements from the description.2. How much of the picture is actually "paintable" -- always look at the stock pictures provided by the vendor and if they did not include one of the unfinished project, then ask. I've gotten ones before that literally took me 30 minutes to complete because it was one very small part of the picture that was "painted" and only a couple of colors. On the other hand, beware if the project is 100% "paintable" as it is very time consuming. I personally don't mind those types, but just be aware of what you are purchasing so you aren't disappointed.3. The number of colors -- the more the better as it keeps it fun. I find if a project has large areas all the same color, I tend to get bored pretty fast. This is one area the vendors could do a better job with disclosing.4. The shape of the crystals -- I find I like the round shape better than the square shape as it's much more forgiving as far as placement on the adhesive. That being said, the adhesive has give to it so you can nudge placed crystals around a bit.5. Location of product -- a lot vendors who carry these are located outside of the US which means shipping can be very slow. One thing I have found to help me with this type of craft is the Darice Clear Bead Container with 24 storage jars. I label each jar lid with the crystal color symbol and then keep the crystals in these until I need them. It's easy to pour in and out of them and if I only need a few crystals, I can just leave them in the jar and not use the tray. That's just a personal preference, but one I find very helpful. This rainy evening park scene is 100% "paintable" in a whopping 34 colors! The crystals are opaque and square. The dimensions are approximately 10-1/2" tall by 15-3/4" wide. This one took quite a while to finish, but it is one of my favorites.

First time doing this type of project. I found it pretty challenging in a good way -- forces you to be patient. Took me a couple weeks working a couple hours a day. It does get tedious at times, but at the end of it all you get a pretty picture to hang on your wall. The product comes from China. It's a kit with everything you need to complete the project. Beware: if you have bad eyes and clumsy fingers, you may have difficulty doing this. The mosaic pieces are extremely small and you have to handle them with precision tweezers.

This was my first diamond painting adventure, and I'm now on to my second one. Beautiful! This is a phenomenal hobby and the supplies provided are perfect. My husband built me a small frame to mount it to, and it's now hanging in our office! I recommend good lighting and foam board to tape it to until the project is complete. This allowed me to work on it sitting on the couch at night/outside/anywhere I wanted!

Fun kit
This was my first time doing one of these kits. While the instructions aren't in English I felt like you didn't really need them. It was like the directions for cross stitch. The beads were square and this was a full coverage (full drill) kit. I found it very relaxing to do. My only issue with the kit is that towards the end I ran out of 2 colors. The palest yellow and one of the purples. I was able to substitute with other colors I had extra of. But would have been better if I could have used the right colors all of the way through. I also had to special order a frame to fit it correctly since the size was odd.

Very tedious but fun!
This was the first project like this that I had attempted to do. I usually order cross stitch patterns that are stitched with thread and thought I'd give this a try. Since then, I've done 3 more so I'll write this review for the first timer. If you like projects that are tedious and need attention to detail, this is definitely for you! I have enjoyed it very much and will probably do several more! This specific kit comes with no instructions in English, but it's very easy to follow anyway. The pattern is already on the canvas with symbols and color coding. All the rhinestones come in individual bags according to color and it's very easy to match. I will say that packaging is rather poorly designed. I say this because in other kits I have ordered, the beads come in small zip lock bags and it's easy to keep from spilling or mixing. This particular kit comes in bags to cut open and a few (but not as many needed) of empty zip bags to pour beads into. But over all I really enjoyed doing this project. It makes a very beautiful finished picture with vibrant colors and lots of details in the picture.

It's a lot of fun even though it's time consuming.
Completed approximately 60% of canvas and realizing there is not enough rhinestones of certain colors. Hopefully seller can provide me rhinestones to finish my project. It's a lot of fun even though it's time consuming. I will rate it a five if I can get the remaining rhinestones to finish my project. Able to contact seller and was able to get replacement. Seller was quickly to respond and resolve issue. Will definitely order from seller again. This is one of the most relaxing and fun craft. The tweezers are actually very easy to use with this project. Very pleased with purchase.
