This forty-minute, eight-song split EP pairs Southern California trio Nebula with sludgy Swedish quartet Lowrider. Nebula builds its tracks from quiet introductions, shaking the earth with dueling guitar solos, fluid drumming and memorable choruses. No less punishing, Lowrider's simple, oozing riffs recall the slow groove of Black Sabbath. - CMJ

Cool split cd from Meteor City.
Real quick, Nebula is ex Fu Manchu guys, Lowrider is from Sweden and has that Kyuss/Dozer sound.4 songs by Nebula, 4 songs by Lowrider. The 2 best Nebula trax on this disc,Full Throttle and Fall Of Icarus, produced by Jack Endino. The best 2 Lowrider songs on this cd are The Gnome,The Serpent,The Sun, and Shivaree. If you are into the stoner rock stuff, this is worth getting. So are most of the Nebula cds and Lowrider Ode to Io. Rock On!

A mixed bag of Nebula and Lowrider
I've always thought that Nebula, for whatever reason, performs a lot better on their singles and their EPs than on their full length album. The Double EP certainly has its low points, but Nebula brings it all together at the end of their half with "Fall of Icarus" and its punchy bassline. The Lowrider half is excellent, their first three songs could be deleted tracks off "Ode to Io" but the final one "Upon the Dune" branches out and fades away into a weed induced daydream.

A lowdown asskicking good time
Low bass, lots of seventies references, a lot of Sabbath listening in the respective band members' youth. This is good stuff, fun and trippy, not doomy like Sabbath, but heavy and rocking.
