It actually helps even out the leg discrepancy. Don't know how long the pads last, the work shoe one seems to be compressing down. The good news is less knee pain and more even shoe wear.

I bought these at the recommendation of my doctor to correct a leg length imbalance, so I only wear one in one shoe. The price was great and they work just fine- for me they stay in place without the adhesive- but unlike the silicone shoe inserts they do compress over time, so I'll probably have to replace them periodically to keep them doing what I bought them for.

Recent visit to an Ortho doctor for heel swelling and pain. He gave me a pair of these. I wanted to have an ample supply since they have helped immensely!!!! Felt strange the first day or so but I dont want to be without them. I work 12 hours as a RN on cement floors, wear particular pair of shoes and these pads have made such a huge difference. I also use ice., achilles tendonitis exerices. I do not want to have surgery!

I bought a pair of Vans and after walking in them for an hour I noticed the shoe was rubbing the bony sides of my ankles. This gave me enough lift so I can wear them comfortably.

Love these pads!!! I used to only be able to get them at my orthopedic surgeon's office at a much greater price. These do not mash down and deflate like foam and break apart like gel pads do. I have very high arches "peek-a-boo heel" and constantly have achilles tendon pain if I try to wear shoes with a heel less than an inch and half. I use these in all my shoes with a heel of one inch or less, especially athletic shoes which I find always to low heeled for my foot comfort, and it makes them much more comfortable. They are a very firm felt wool like pad. I don't use them for cushioning, so I don't know how useful they would be if you are looking only for cushioning.
