Get the set of forty!
I already had the set of forty Stabilo 68 pens, and then bought the set of fifty 88s. Expecting the same range of colours, I ordered the set of fifty 68s, expecting ten new colours. There were five new fluorescent colours, but no others, only double ups of five colours already in the set - the black, pale grey, red, green and blue. They are, however, very good pens, and highly recommended, but unless you are desperate for flourescents, stick to the set of forty.

... different brands of colouring pens and these are my favourite. The price seems to be a bit 'ouch' ...
I have many different brands of colouring pens and these are my favourite. The price seems to be a bit 'ouch' when you view the listing, and I hesitated on the 'add to basket' button as a result. However, I took the plunge and I am so glad I did. The colours are so vibrant and beautiful and the nibs are a fantastic quality, resulting in nice, smooth colouring. I would highly recommend these pens. These are definitely my favourite out of all the brands that I've tried. One pen lost the lid well over a month ago, and yet it's still going strong - I use these on a daily basis (I have health issues and am unable to work as a result, so I need something to fill my days and when my doctor suggested 'art therapy' as a way to pass time and get myself out of my own head, I thought, well, why not?) I bought these pens back in April, 2015. It's now August, 2015, and they're still going strong - not even a hint that any of them might be losing their ink (and sometimes I spend the whole day colouring, just to pass time). I simply adore these pens. If you like colouring in, or are just getting into it, then you will want to buy these pens.

Get the largest set you can and love them forever!
I wanted to write a glowing review immediately after the first stroke I made with one of these pens, however having been caught out by seemingly-amazing pens in the past I decided to use them for a little while before making up my mind. I needn't have waited. These pens are absolutely amazing - intensely-pigmented colours, light and easy to hold, ink that flows freely enough to make colouring a pleasure yet not so freely as to make fine details challenging. Just fantastic. The only disappointment is that there aren't more colours available - if Stabilo ever markets a larger set than the 50 I will be first in the queue! There are still more than enough shades to create a wide variety of colour schemes. While they can't be described as budget pens, at this level of quality you really do get what you pay for. Very highly recommended.

This so-called 50 set contains only 40 unique colours and 5 highlighters, the rest are duplicates
The contents of this set aren't stated anywhere, not on the Amazon page, not on Stabilo's own packaging. This so-called 50 colour set contains the same 40 colours as the 40 colour set, plus duplicates of 5 of these colours, plus 5 highlighter-like fluorescent markers. It would have been nice to know this upfront, so I wouldn't buy this product. But I wasn't told, and now I've got to return it.Contacted Stabilo, they promised to alter their packaging to accurately describe the contents. Until they do, I hope this review would save you some time and money.

Great Pens Well worth paying more
I am a huge fan of colouring and normally would go for Stadetler pens. But these have an amazing range of colours annoyed that light lilac 59 isn’t in the range would have made sense as that’s the full 47 colour range extra blue green black and red making up the 50 so technically only 46 standard colours. Luckily I bought a set which had the light lilac in. Nicer colour range and can’t wait to get the matching 88 range.

Amazing pens great for adult colouring
I absolutely love this selection of pens. There are 4 colours of which there are 2 (black, red, green, blue) and they come in a lovely tin where you can see all the colours at once. There are 4 shades of grey, 5 shades of Browns, 7 shades of greens, 5 shades of blue, 3 shades of purple, 5 shades of pink, 3 shades of red, 3 shades of orange and 2 shades of yellow plus 6 neon colours. I will be buying these again when they run out. The nib is a step thicker than the fine liner pens but I still manage fine with precision colouring, I just have to go a bit slower and carefully.

... few other brands - and these are absolutely the best. The quality is top notch
I got these for an adult colouring book along with a few other brands - and these are absolutely the best. The quality is top notch, the colours are nicely varied and having 50 pens means the range is quite large - although three colours are repeated (a green, a red and a blue).

Not happy
I bought the 50 pen set on a lightning deal. But the black tray inside that holds the pens were damaged. I tried some of the pens and like the previous person's review there were pens that didnt seemto work well. I have been using the stabilo brand for long now and the standard is pretty high. The pens are usually "juicy" and bright and last a very long time. So I am not sure why this tin was not upto that quality. I will be returning this.
