Martin Clunes: The Biography Paperback – September 2, 2013

I've become a huge fan of Martin Clunes, first discovering Doc Martin on Hulu, then watching Men Behaving Badly, William and Mary, Reggie Perrin and some of his movies on the internet. I've found interviews and articles online to learn more about him. I was a little nervous about ordering the book. There were no reviews. I couldn't be sure if it would be a trash job, or if it would be a puff piece telling me little more than I already knew. It was neither.The book treats Martin Clunes with respect and nicely covers the story of his life and fills in some gaps. I do think the author relied heavily on already published data. Perhaps people who live in the UK and have followed his career would already know a lot of this. But for a new fan in the States, it was worth my $$$.

Martin Clunes is formidable as Doc Martin,but can seriously believe him as dog lover and lover of all animals.He was LOL funny as Dr Bamford,am currently watching the Doc Martin movies,and adore the show Doc Martin.Had to order William & Mary,and will order MBB,series 2.Saw his dad in Quentin Durward,and there is some resemblance,and I hope those who were quick with the nasty remarks to Martin growing up have realized how cruel they were and atone for it.Thank Goodness he has a sense of humor to tide him over difficult times and I hope he,Phillippa and Emily are doing quite well.

this is mostly about Martins' previous life coming up to Dr. Martin. i found it slow to read. sorry. I love Martin Clues but as a avid book reader, i was a little disaapointed.

This is a great Biography. It gives you a glimpse into Martin Clunes life and that of his close family. I bought this because I love the Doc Martin series and I later found Reggie Perrin and loved that as well. Martin is a great actor and it was nice to find out about his upbringing and history as a actor.

If you are a Martin Clunes fan, this is a great read. Well written and informative. A book to read for relaxation and pleasure...

I very much enjoyed learning more about Martin Clunes, having only recently become aware of him and his TV shows. He is a brilliant actor/comedian, with his dry sense of humor, imposing persona, apparent approachability, and he makes it all seem so effortless. Not to mention, he is a very handsome man, with a beautiful family. I'm a alerted that he says he is not especially "religious"; I know that is just a descriptive word, but I hope he accepts my God, who created all the beautiful land, animals, and everything that he loves so dearly !! I also purchased his book "A Dog's Life" and am thoroughly enjoying that read. I am an animal lover (bunny-hugger) as well, with a Long-haired Miniature Dachshund and a big, beautiful Ragdoll cat. I wish him continued success in the future!

I enjoyed this book about a very interesting comedic and dramatic actor in the UK. His interests in animals and travel has generated a few interesting books and videos about dogs, wolves,and horses and in the process has taken us on an exploratory tour as he discovers his subject. Am looking to watching the Islands of Britain whenever it's released.

Loved the book! Learned stuff there that I had no idea! Wanted to read this as I was traveling to Cornwall and Port Issac to visit the location of where Doc Martin was filmed.
