If your kayak hole is exactly 6", it'll have to be enlarged some to make fit. Not exactly 6" mount
After careful measurements on my 12' Peican Kayak, I determined these would work and ordered 2 (have 2 of the same model kayak both missing this storgae pocket). One came in today,so I grabbed the screw diver and went to do the quick swap out. My old one was just the mount ring left (a 6" kayak hole exactly). This one would not fit. The inside lip that recesses into the kayak hole has a pretty thick lip when compared to the OEM one. I had to enlarge my kayak hole about 1/4" all the way around to make it work. Easy enough with my Dremel tool. Not too bad considering the cost when compared to local stores for the one that would fit without trimming. Figure it worth a note to other potential buyers. I'll update after some use time as to durability.

Good Cat Bag Hatch
Installed just fore of the cockpit on a 1976 Windflite (Sunfish Clone) sailboat. This model doesn't have any area for storage and I needed some place for small items. As stated in the description the bag is not waterproof, but if properly sealed the hatch is. It comes with wood type screws, which I didn't use since I already planned to attaché it with stainless steel machine screws and nylon captive nuts. Also come with a foam gasket to "protect the hull". After just cutting a 6 inch hole in the hull not sure how much protection it needs. Anyway didn't use the gasket, just an adhesive sealant.Installation was easy. Only needed a drill and a jigsaw. All in all a good product.

Good hatch for easy acess.
The hatch it's self is great, but mine came with a damaged seal. Im replacing the hatch that came with my kayak because the old one twist in and any sand or dirt makes it nealy impossible to loosen. The pop up latch on this one lays flat and is very easy to turn.The hatch came with a thin foam seal and stainless screws. The seal looks like it melted or was compressed for a long time. Not a huge deal as I will seal it with silicone.

After combing thru the multiple offerings of essentially the same thing, this is the one that stood out for me. Came with all of the necessary stainless screws, a foam seal, drop in basket, and the main hatch. Installation was easy, after tracing the inside of the seal onto the kayak.Only reason for one less star is that the embedded o-ring under the lid was out of place when received. After a few hours of it being back in its correct position, it took the needed shape again.

Works great. Holds a lot of stuff. keep in mind Is not a dry bag storage so things inside can get wet if water gets in hull of kayak

I am initially very happy with this purchase. When traveling to NC beaches my Equinox Angler deck hatch fell off in transit. It was $50.00 to replace with OEM. I like this one better and it was super easy to install. Tight lines everyone! God bless.

These are pretty sweet for the price
These are pretty sweet for the price. Extra storage space without too much extra cash. No problems with the installation or with the quality of the hatches ( I bought 2). Overall satisfied with my purchase!

Bow hatch
It installed fine and was easy to get it in place. Just cut a 6 1/2 inch hole in the bow of my kayak and pushed it in.
