CasilCA-1240 12V 4AH Solex BD124 Alarm Back Up DSC Security Panel Replace

Battery was perfect for my security system. Almost exact same battery that I replaced. Took a couple hours to charge fully but works well. Installation was very easy.

It's been several months since I replaced the old one with this Casil CA-1240 12V 4AH SLA battery. I have had no issue at all.

I need to replace this battery in my home. My alarm system was wired through this battery in the panel. I was able to find the exact brand of battery that came in the home. Easy to install. Great price!

We purchased the Casil CA-1240 12V 4AH Solex BD124 Alarm Back Up DSC Security Panel Replacement Battery for use with the "ancient" part of our security system. We have a hybrid system in that an older system was incorporated into our Z-Wave system some 15 years ago. Yeah, both are ancient but not very comfortable with newer systems that can look in on your home network without your knowledge. That is just scary as all get-out. Anyway, this battery solved an error message on the control panel so we could re-enable some disabled sensors. Very reasonable price, too!

It seems new and holds a charge. The "Low Battery" warning on the panel is no longer present.After purchasing this and replacing the old battery, I did some research and learned that the panel's charge controller can support a battery up to 8AH, so I will be getting a bigger battery when this one wears out in a few years.

FIRST ORDER: This is for our alarm unit. The specs are exactly the same as the one we have. The first one lasted for less than two years. Are they supposed to die that quickly? Not sure. So we had to get a new one. We will see how long this one will last. Otherwise it works as it is supposed to.UPDATE 1: This one lasted one year and one month! So I am taking the rating down to two stars. Actually the battery acted up from the get go. I thought it was DOA but then it stated working. Now it is totally dead as my panel indicates battery failure.UPDATE 2 (October 2023): I ordered my third battery. It arrived DOA. I requested a replacement and I was referred to the manufacturer. I thought it was going to be a rabbit hole with no response and ultimately giving up on the idea of return or replacement.Well, I am here to let you know that it was not the case. I heard from the company the same day. They sent an email and told me that they were going to send a replacement. Meanwhile, before even hearing from them, I had gone ahead and ordered another unit directly on their site. I told the person what I had done. He said they will reverse the charges which they did and stop the shipment. A day or two after the email exchange, I had a unit delivered to my front door. I was not expecting a fast delivery like that. BTW, I told the person that I did not mind keeping the second unit as back up. They told me that due to shelf life being uncertain, they do not recommend have a back up on the shelf for long. Surprise of all surprises., although they reversed the charges on my CC for the unit that I order from them directly, they still delivered the unit to me.I have never experienced manufacturer support like this even for items that cost upwards of $1K and beyond. They did all this follow up and super service for a $20 battery!! I am beyond impressed.Casil, you have a fan for life. Thank you Michael.
