This is probably the cheapest safe that I have found on amazon that has enough protection to be worth getting. Pretty much all of the safes with keypads in this price range are very easy to break into. The key on this safe is pretty unique, it looks very difficult to pick with standard tools. The bars that hold the door shut seem very sturdy. You would definitely notice if someone broke into this. With the safe properly bolted down, it looks as if the only way in would be prying it open. Not sure how it stands up to being pryed open, but if your not worried about that, it is a great safe. For my purposes it works great.

The sentry Safe is the best gun safe for the money! The safe is made out of heavy duty steel with locking pins! This safe also has quarter inch holes in the bottom and back sides of safe so safe can be bolted into a tight space to make it harder for someone to get the safe and walk off with the safe. Also this safe is a keyed safe so no combonations to forget! I keep the gun out at night and lock gun in safe during the day unless gun will be used for target practice. Very excellent safe very heavy and bolt down if you want a good safe this is the one!!!

Love these small safes they are very secure and I love the key that comes with it because it's not like a normal key so it's harder to get duplicated and this way they cant pick the lock! I love the size too it about the size of a big shoe box so you can hide in places whether it be a drawer, night stand, closet, cubby hole, where ever! I have ordered two now 1 for myself and 1 for my mom, definitely would order again if I ever needed another one. Definitely would recommend this product!

I saw this item in Wal-Mart for $50 and researched the lower price on Amazon with free Prime shipping. If you are looking for a little security, this is a good choice. Ignore the dork who couldn't get his key to work in the lock - the key will insert on either side but only one side will open the door. Could have been made to allow key to only go in one way and lock mechanism could feel more "sturdy" but small gripes for the price of the unit. Given that you can spend $20 on a cheap plastic Rx "security" container, this is a steal for keeping pills out of kids hands or storing items you don't want people to have unobstructed access to. This is by no means a thief-proof safe but it does what it's supposed to do. Reasonable size to conceal...no thick fire proofing to decrease interior volume. I give it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement but I am completely satisfied with this product. Thank you for making multiple types of safes as everyone has different needs. They say this is "firearm" safe but I wouldn't trust it with a gun...not many things i would trust with a gun!!

I bought this safe to store my revolver handgun and a few boxes of ammo, which it has plenty of room for both. The lock is simple and effective, and the walls of the safe are very durable and won't flex when you push on the sides like some cheap safes and gun lock boxes will. I purposefully bought this safe because of the fact that it does not have a electronic combo lock, which are unreliable. This keeps my kids out of the safe, is easy to hide and bolt into a wall stud, and is a great buy for the price.

I bought this safe as a small, out of sight, mountable security option for my pistols. The key only goes in one way, one side has a little nib on it that prevents it from being inserted incorrectly. It takes a maybe 5 minutes of practice to figure out the proper way to insert the key, it has to go in relatively straight. Other than that, the safe is solidly built for a $40 safe. It has two 1" dead bolts and in internal hinge, door is slightly recessed. It has mount points on the bottom and rear of the unit. I was able to mount the safe using all 4 mounting holes, I do suggest getting some good wall anchors from the hardware store as the plastic ones that come with it are complete junk. I used 100lb drywall anchors and spent around $5 for hardware. Unit comes with a chunk of thin felt like carpet, which is fine for most needs to cover the bottom. My only gripe is that the lock unit visually appears a little fragile, but I have not tested this. Also the keys have small bubbles in the chrome finish at the business end of the key. Hasnt affected performance, but time will tell. ............3.5 Year Update.................... No issues, still works well. Same key has been used exclusively with no problems or excessive wear. .............10 MONTH UPDATE............. 0 issues with this safe. I open it a few times a week using the same key. Everything works exactly like it should.

While looking through most of the safes on Amazon and elsewhere, I noticed that the vast majority of them were electronic safes. When buying a safe, it should be noted that electronic ones are easily broken into, since you can just bang on the top and knock the piston out that holds the door closed. Knowing this, I wanted to find a safe that used only a key; and a complex key that couldn't be picked. I was able to find only this one. Once I received the safe, I was able to easily bolt it to my desk, where it holds all of my valuables. If you're looking for a secure and inexpensive safe, then this is much better than an electronic alternative.

I really wanted to like this safe, but I couldn't keep it to hold valuables. First off, I can easily hold it with one hand. A safe this size should not be that light. The reason I was able to lift it with such ease was because the walls of the safe were very thin. Not sheet metal thin but easily rupturable with a sledge hammer. Next thing I was hoping for was the bolt system. Two bolts on the side. And they were very short. Usually I prefer long bolts, not the bare minimum length to barely pass (3 in). It is not very sturdy. I took off the swinging door panel to look at the lock mechanisms and I did not like what I saw. Everything was so cheap inside. It did not instill confidence in me. The ONLY thing I liked about this safe was the key feature. They are thick, long and durable. Safes of this size rarely have keyed locks. The key for this lock is not easily duplicated nor is is flimsy and will snap in half on you like other safe keys. They are extremely unique looking and come as a pair (of 2). The safe I guess is okay for things like passport, money, personal documents. But I would not consider it as a handgun safe against theft/smash and grabs. For those who want to use it to store handguns and keep it away from babies/kids, I guess it would be sufficient. It can store 5 handguns (9mm) of barrel length 4-5in. Carpeted bottom as well. It is not fire/water safe!

The measurements concerning the inside of the unit were nowhere to be found. Got myself all too small safe!!!!!

It's perfect for keeping documents like bank info, Passports, Jewelry etc... The nice thing is that it can be double bolted to a wall (2) and a floor (2) So, no one can take the safe & run. That's where the hidden camera comes in handy.

The fixing screws and plugs provided are really way too small to provide any real security if you want the box permanently set into a wall or concrete floor . The floor of the safe was drilled out to a 12mm -1/2 inch hole to enable a 75mmx 12mm dyna bolt to be screwed into the concrete floor. No way will this allow any one to wrench the safe free without a very strong crowbar or something similar. The safe itself works as described and is an ideal size for a storage of a will, real estate titles etc and normal jewellery, cash etc.
