We don't own a kindle but I think they might be a little smaller than the iPad. **Q: I'm thinking about getting this for my two year old son.... Would he have an issue with this staying on without it having a chest clip?** A: Our two year old daughter does fine without a strap. You could if needed add a strap for the chest- one of those velcro straps. It's not a standard backpack. Although it holds a lot and has a little pocket on the outside you can put treasures or binki in. **Q: Would an 11 year old get bored of this?** A: It occupies my 18 month old for about 5 -10 minutes at a time. It would likely be a bit uninspiring for most 11 year olds. **Q: do the different buckles work on other ones? (example: the yellow buckle working on the blue buckle)** A: This is the cutest backpack. The buckles on the sides only work on the ones opposite them. For a younger child unfortunately the buckles are too close together for the child to be able to use them. My granddaughter who is now two years old can buckle them good and she loves wearing the backpack filled with things. Yes please! *by V***R on June 17, 2018* At almost 19-month-old, my son is OBSESSED with buckles and clips—every size, shape and color. Imagine my absolute joy when I discovered this line of Buckle Toys. I envisioned my son sitting through long car rides and even a flight with this toy. Straight out of the box, I liked how soft the fabric is. It’s not quite velour, but it’s also not felt, like someone had explained in another review. It definitely does not attract dog fur or lint. The colors of the buckles are bright and cheerful, and the backpack itself is made very well. The stitching is strong; as is necessary for toys targeting this age range. The straps are nice and strong, and the buckles are made from strong plastic that feel good in hand. The zipper is very nice quality—easy to zip/unzip without catching, and the pull is a good size for little hands. The backpack surprisingly holds more than I imagined I would. I was able to fit a couple of books, his OXO straw cup, and a couple of diapers with room to spare. My son enjoyed wearing the weighted-down backpack with the “look Mama! I’m wearing a backpack!” proud smile on his face. He’s challenged enough with the buckles to keep him interested, but not too challenged that he gets frustrated. So far he’s mastered buckling the square and round buckles, and can sometimes also open those buckles on his own. I am looking forward to using this for our annual trip across the country this summer.
