We really like this gate. we adopted a dog who had some weird fears and he would run upstairs at the drop of a hat. I am disabled so going upstairs to bring him down was becoming very difficult for me. Since there was no rhyme or reason to his fears, we couldn't predict when he would run upstairs. We have a wooden banister so we couldn't attach a gate to the banister. He actually destroyed 2 stand alone gates before this gate . This gate is taller and heavier and he suddenly stopped crashing through the gates to run upstairs. I don't know if it was that the gate made him feel more secure or what but he just stopped and never tried to run through this gate. He did try to slide it sideways twice when we first got it but then he just stopped doing the behavior. I can't explain why he stopped but he did and he doesn't seem to be reacting to the particular noises that he was before. Go figure!

First, I love how classy and nice this gate looks in our house. I bought it to keep my my cat out of my sunroom where all of my plants are. He's a chunky boy and since I ordered the tall version he doesn't even bother hopping over it.With this being said- it is very lightweight and not very sturdy. My dog just sees it and thinks "oh. gate. can't go there" and doesn't bother it. But if you have a dog that will try to knock it over.. they definitely will succeed. All in all it works for me and I like it.

I purchased because I watch pups via Rover and needed something to separate during feeding times or time outs. Needed something lightweight to use around the house and then put away - I have a bad back. It’s very lightweight and easy to set up. One of the pictures shows how it stands straight while folded and doesn’t need to be leaned against anything. The color says white, but I would consider it primed like how you purchase doors - pictures reflect that. (If you’re looking for a gate to paint using the colors you want, this is your gate - I plan to paint the bars black eventually) The height is great for taller dogs. The design is modern and minimalistic - I like how the vertical bars are squared verses round. Rating 4 stars because it’s not painted ‘white’ and some parts need to be sanded down to smooth the rough parts.I’ve had it for about a week - I’ll come back in a few months with a progress update!

Pros: keeps my cats and dogs ( at times) separated at a landing on stairs. I have a disability, so when hands are full, it’s so easy on me to push one side out of the way with a foot. I love that it can fold almost flat when i might need to move, or need space. It’s aesthetically far more pleasing to the eye than traditional pet/ baby gates. Dark wood color, nice height and reasonably priced.Cons: if you have any toddlers in the house this will be of no help whatsoever. If you have hyper, veey large or super curious dogs , this will not phase them one bit.For my purposes, animal’s ages, and my physical limitations it’s perfect!

I purchased several brands to see which would work best for us. I opened this but chose a different brand. This gate was lightweight, the slats are thin and jiggle a little. Color was nice but we needed taller and a heavier gate. Good for a lightweight dog.

Works and looks amazing

We needed a free standing pet gate, so I purchased this on October 9th. It was more expensive than what I was looking for, but it looked like it fit exactly what I needed. It looks good, clean white color, folds up so it can be stuck in the corner out of the way when not in use.After a short amount of time, I noticed a chunk of wood popped out. It was on the corner, but not really problematic, so I just glued it back. You can see that in one of the pictures.Today, I noticed that one of the screws in the hinges fell out. I went to put it back and it wouldn't catch because the wood around it is cracked.I'm very disappointed because of the price of this gate and the fact that it was exactly what we were looking for, but it seems to be falling apart with normal use, so I don't expect this to last me much longer. If you are looking for a free standing pet gate, I suggest you look elsewhere.Edit to add: reduced the rating to 1-star because it just completely broke. This is unacceptable. This is very poor quality and you should stay away.

We bought this to keep our 1 year old lab mixed breed off the stairs by placing it in front of the landing. It stays standing well and is tall enough for out medium tall 50 lb dog. It's fairly light so he did learn how to push it with his nose to move it, so we had to tie one side to secure it to another gate across our living room entryway and then put something in front of the other side so he can't push it. Once we found a way to anchor it, he could no longer push it out of the way. Very easy for us to move it to enter the stairway.

I am able to keep my bedroom door open for heat and air distribution but keep our gorgeous dog out.
