Checkolite B1010-21 LED Flex Light, Black

I was looking for a flexible LED light that I could use while hand quilting. I looked in a specialty quilt catalog and found this same light for $14.99. I thought to check Amazon and found the same light for $4.99. I could chose a color (not an option in the quilt catalog) I ordered it in pink and it arrived two days later. Opened the package and took out the light. Tried to turn it on and it would not work. I pulled that battery cover off and saw that the coin batteries that operate it were corroded. I brushed off the corrosion and the light worked. However, it made me wonder just how long those batteries have sat in the light and how quickly I will need to replace them. The light is not as bright as I would like and I wonder if replacing the batteries will help. Good for the money and serves the purpose.

The cord doesn't hold strongly, so you have to have a good amount of the flex to wrap and hold. the ones I received look like they may have been returns. The outer cases were all scratched up and looked like they had been rolled around. The light cover was also scratched. We decided to keep it because the hassle of returning and reordering them was more than I wanted to deal with. that said, we purchased these to hang from the handle in the back seat of the car for the kids to read at night. Once we fidgeted with it enough, we got it to work.

I purchased this light to knit while my boyfriend watches TV (because, OMG, you can't turn the lights on during TV!). It's great - wraps around my neck and has a decent battery life, as opposed to some other LED lights that die after a few minutes of use. It's easily position-able and has a nice 'egg' shape to it. The only thing I dislike about it is that the light 'spreads' a bit, which disturbs my boyfriend slightly, so I had to devise a small cone to go around the light source in order to keep the light out of his eyes. But that's a personal preference thing - if you need a small hands free book/craft light, this light is great!

My kids (3 and 5 years old) like to look at books to wind down at bed time. I twist the light around their bedpost and braced it with a zip tie so it can be angled up the right way. Prior to this we were using led flashlights that were too bright and always got lost in their bed at some point. This works well in place of the flashlight. I did assume it would twist and grip to something a bit better than it does but it still functions well. And It's definitely a reading light and not a night light for those of you wondering with little kids. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product and the kids loved the colors.

Looks and acts as I would suspect. Should work for what I wish...but...the LED is not white, it's blue! LEDs come in many colors so the assumption was this is a white light. Would not be so bad if they were to let people know, in which case I would not have purchased,

I purchased this item with intent to alter it, so its function wasn't too important to me. Good thing, too, because the one I received had no hope of working.The batteries were DOA and had begun corroding.The electrical connection between LED and battery terminal depended entirely on spring tension in the bent LED lead. The assembler left a whiff of solder on the lead, but it was not joining the components at all.The abysmal quality of components and construction didn't surprise me much. It's cheap chinese junk built down to a price, after all. Somebody expecting a functional light, however, will probably be disappointed.The stalk is nicely flexible and holds its position well. So it's got that going for it.

To say its cheaply made is one thing, I cannot even get the light to stay on. I can get it to light but when it is suppose to click to stay on I have trouble. I'm having to bend the strand around til it will actually stay on. If I didnt have the hassle with trying to get it to stay on I would love it. I will probably try another product for my needs because of the hassle.

I bought this for my mother's birthday.to wind onto my mom's padded bed rails so she can have a little light to read her books by. Unfortunately a little light was all it is. Also it runs on LR-44 button cells. Expensive to replace. I wish the light was brighter. She says she is OK with it, but I wish it were better.
