Scholastic Success With Reading Comprehension: Grade 2 Workbook Paperback – March 1, 2010

I started homeschooling my two kids this school year and I bought Scholastic workbooks to use with the online curriculum we are using. I've always liked Scholastic's educational products and these don't disappoint. My kids enjoy working in all of them but their favorite is Grammar. I like the answer sheets at the back of the book. My only complaint would be that the start of the answer sheets is on the back of the last page in the workbook. I had to make a copy of the last page so I could remove all the answer sheets. I will be purchasing Scholastic workbooks again for next school year!

My step-daughter was having some issues staying focused in school with reading and comprehension, so I saw this and thought it might be a fun way to peak her interest and get her grades up. She hated it at first, and complained EVERY time we had her do a couple of pages after school, but now if I tell her to do her pages, she willingly does them and understand what she's doing. It's an awesome little book, and it explains things extremely well. The last several times I've told her to do her pages, she's done it by herself and I checked her work and it was perfect. Even her penmanship has improved with the practice. I'll be ordering more for 3rd grade!

These are great. I give my daughter a page and she completes front and back. It is teaching her to comprehend or quickly find information in a story. She will be entering 2nd grade in the fall and can easily read them. This book prepares them for necessary skills and if you're child is not a fan of reading, it's an easy way to make them do it everyday. My daughter likes these and doesn't see it as "reading."

Covers a wide variety of reading skills with a different type of activity on each page. This workbook isn’t as appealing as the full-color Brain Quest workbooks with stickers, but it’s interesting enough.

Used this to help my daughter with reading comprehension. It’s a fun workbook with all sorts of exercises/activities that concentrate on the different components of reading comprehension. I feel like it’s helped her better achieve our homeschooling goals for 2nd grade. The directions are easy to follow and of course the answers are in the back for easy grading. Would buy again for my son once he’s in 2nd grade

I LOVE this book and the Grammar 2 book. I homeschool all 3 of my kids, while the older 2 are more independent and learn easier, my youngest has a hard time sitting still and focusing. This a great resource and learning guide for her. The lessons are short enough that she does not get bored but there is great practice in the lesson. She loves doing these worksheets and it has improved her comprehension 10 fold. The grammar grade 2 book is also great. I will be continuing with grade 3 of both books and adding the writing 2 and 3 to our lessons. I am so glad we found these books.

Nice selection of reading and comprehension activities to keep kids practicing their skills throughout the summer.

This is one of the best homework book that i got my son. My son reads at a higher level and the teacher asked us to focus on his comprehension skills. This one is wonderful as it has one page story and comprehension questions. It definitely helped build my son's comprehension skills
