Way Cool
I bought this for my daughter, who's been using it record music and voiceovers for various college and personal projects. Of all the choices out there, I thought she would enjoy this one's quirky look, and she has... but she also gives its audio quality high marks. Plugged in to her laptop, it worked immediately without any glitches, and has been a welcome upgrade from previously using her MacBook's built-in mic, or recording with her phone. It's turned out to be a straightforward, dependable microphone that's easy to use, handy to have in her dorm room, and a kick to look at. (Plus Dad gets extra points for coming up with a groovy gift).

Good sound, easy to use
Plug it in and talk - that is all I had to do. When we switched over to everything online, our laptop mics were picking up their fans. We knew we needed external mics. My wife got a mic to plug into the headphone plug of her Mac. When it didn't work, we just plugged in my Widget and off she went, creating content. On my laptops (running Windows and Linux) it was also just plug in and play. No muss or fuss. The sound was good, but it picked up the sound of fluorescent lights - easily dealt with using a free virtual sound board.I'm now the best sounding person in my online meetings.

Excellent Value
The microphone has great sound quality, but it is really large. I get a lot of comments on the enormity of it, but those people wish they had one, too. I love the look of the microphone. Works well and gets attention.

Excellent microphone
This microphone has excellent sound quality. Used to record my bass clarinet part for a zoom performance for the university's community wind ensemble. The sound was very clear and could place the microphone on the floor by the bell of the instrument. Receive a compliment of the sound by the conductor. It also has a great retro look!

Cute, but not new.
This is a very cute, unique microphone. It arrived earlier than predicted. The sound quality is good but still picks up background noise, like T.V. or barking dog. it's sturdy enough to rest your headphones on. It was sold as new but clearly had been opened and used. No plastic tamper plastic wrap, and the mic was out of it's manufacturer box and loose in USP box.

Excellent podcast microphone
This is a very good microphone for the money, my son got me one for xmas. Don't be fooled by it's looks. I have been using it for my podcast and my voice quality is much better than with other microphones. It's easy to install and I have tested it on both Mac and windows without any issues. The picture doesn't show it as well , but you can adjust the height of the microphone on the stand, this is very helpful and by adjusting you will find you can get better sound quality.

Updated review to 5 stars
My original review gave it 3 stars: "The sound quality for recording singing is not nearly as crisp as the cheap headset mic I am trying to replace. There is a significant gain hum in the background and I sound like I'm at the other end of a tunnel." I am updating to 5 stars now because it was indeed user error, and after adjusting settings the mic is performing as I would expect from the other excellent reviews (& crisper & better than that crappy headset). I am retaining my original comments above in case any other less-techie folks like me are looking for info. I adjusted the following: made sure the recording device was set to Widget C in the prefs of the audio software I use (Audacity), and that the channels/sample rates matched between the Windows sound settings for the mic and Audacity (2 channels, 24-bit 44100 Hz). Note that Audacity had to be closed and reopened to pick up changes in the microphone settings.

It's amazing
Words can't describe how good this is, and for the price? Amazing.Only thing is, it's pretty big, it's not your usual laptop microphone add-on.The height is about as long as a forearm, and the microphone itself is a bit bigger than a fist.Other than that, would definitely recommend it.

A great microphone for a decent price!
Good quality sounds and sturdy structure, the design of the Widget C is colourful throwback to the classical era. It's USB plug-and-play feature makes it quick and easy to use with no complicated setups required. You can expect wonderfully smooth and clear sounds with the Widget. The Widget comes in the usual Amazon box and paper wrapping. The product is contained safely in a white box. Within it, is a clear plastic casing inside a firm bag, with sufficient taping and bands to hold it steady during shipping. The yellow USB cable matches perfectly with the rest of the product, but it does have a powdery residue around it, which can be wiped off easily with a dry or lightly damp cloth. One thing to note is that the Widget can be quite sensitive to ambient hums and chatter in the background.Overall, I must say I am very satisfied with the quality of the product -- a good buy!

A bit bigger than a blue yeti upright
The audio quality is very good. It's nice to have microphones available with a sense of fun and style. Not every piece of technology needs to be a uniform grey. The cable from the mic to usb port is long enough to give flexibility. One slight criticism is that when my mic came, the front cone housing the microphone fell off. The bit of glue that keeps the front on wasn't enough to keep the cone securely on in transport. No damage was done to the mic but knocking the mic could make the wire mesh cone fall off. Just something to be aware of.
