Exactly what I needed.
My husband and and I just bought our first home. Built in 1925 it does not have hardwired Ethernet, but lots of old telephone cables. I am no way a handyman, but I am gay and so I figured I could do anything. Well, after many frustrated attempts to run, and terminate cable I needed a lifeline. That is where this came in and saved my sanity. I was running cable for a PoE camera and the camera would not connect. Light would turn on, but that’s all. I was certain I messed up the cable. This tool came in the mail and… it passed. So several minutes with support from the camera manufacturer and it was up and running.Exactly what I needed.

Easy way to figure out unlabeled Ethernet cables
I’m not a trained technician. I have several strands of Ethernet cable running through my walls. The cable ends did not have connectors and were not marked, so when four cables exited the wall in one place it wasn’t clear which cable ran where. Once I added connectors to the raw cable I used this little gadget to determine if a cable is complete: (1) plug the small remote into one cable connector, (2) plug the main unit into the other end of the cable, and (3) a press of the button shows if the cable is complete. If it isn’t complete, then either (a) the remote and main unit are on different cables, or (b) there is a problem with the cable (for instance perhaps the connector was not installed properly). It works fine and I was able to label my cables.

That green light!
After years of thinking I was a networking cable termination failure I decided to teach myself. And having this tool makes running long runs so much more fun. You just stick the 'dongle' on one end and the device on the other and await that glorious green "OK" light. You then know with confidence that everything is ok.I wondered if it might be nicer if it told you which pair(s) were not connected properly in the event of a failure. But then again, if I get a failure I just need to snip off the end and start over anyway.I also love the Klein Crimper tool (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076MGPQZQ).

EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED
I originally had to borrow a tester from IT at work to test an issue I was having in my home network. Wired was working but wireless said there was no internet access.Turned out to be one bad wire to an outdoor access point in a detached garage. I wasted several days before that trying to track down the problem. Took a tester less than 30 minutes. Now that I have this tester for myself. I use it every time before I make new cable runs: which I did recently when upgraded my security camera system. This tester fits my personal needs exactly. I only use 'store' cables and I'm not going to 'fix' a cable, just going to use another one. I just want to know if a cable is good or bad and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for anything more.

Did the job we needed it to do.
This was purchased to help out with an office move. We moved two full server racks and wanted to triple check the wiring. Once we mapped and checked everything we were able to find some cabling that was having issues and replace them. We also used this to check the status of cables we made. This will be a permanent addition to my toolset and would recommend this to anyone. I hope you are as happy with it as I am.

I LOVE this tester!
I have always purchased Klien tools to make sure I get the highest quality products for best long term use. I have purchased coax terminations, as well as ethernet terminators, and then this tool. I'm running new CAT5e through my house, and through others, and having the second remote end, so I can run through walls, and then test is amazing.

Remote continuity test of your cables
This tester performs a basic continuity test of your LAN cables, which can be crucial if you make your own. An important distinction between this tester and some cheaper units is that with this tester, you place a remote termination at one end of the cable, and then test from the other end. Some cheaper testers require you to plug both ends of the cable into the tester. Of course, this isn't possible if the cable has been run to a remote location.

Works as advertised
Does exactly what it says. You can test wall wiring and wired ports if you use a known good cable to give you male ends on both sides. Saved a ton of headache as we had a couple ports miswired in a new building. Knew exactly which ones were bad before we plugged anything in.

simlpe easy to use
for quick check very good not so good if you need to know what end has failed so you do not need to redo the wrong end so i use this 1st then higher level tester on failed end ( for speed )

Cheap to hold and feel. Barely worked for about a week. Poor quality, don’t buy.
The item seemed ok when first used, tested less than 6 correctly terminated cables that did test out correctly using a quality piece of kit. Which this is not, I liked the idea of a simple tester for a quick assurance. But never happened as item seems like a very cheap knock off, or just a really poorly made item. Do not recommend, save your money.

Easy to use, and gives immediate response
No Fuss cable tester making it easy to fully test from one end.plug 1st terminated Cat 5/6 connector into remote dongle then terninate other end of the cable. plug in the Connector into the handset and turn on. Instant answer of connectivity. No running the battery flat like some testers.

Buena calidad
Muy buen producto, buena construcción. Se ve que va a durar años. Me hubiera gustado que indicara que cada hilo del cable de red funciona bien con leds, pero solo dice si funciona o no
