Satco S4751 Medium Light Bulb in Bronze/Dark Finish, 5.31 inches, 1 Count (Pack of 1), Red Heat

It works like its supposed to, It has a red/orange glow, kinda like all heat lamps do. Not sure what all the negativity is about?...... Its a 175 watt bulb in the par38 flood bulb size, not like the next size up of 250 watts in the BR40 size. I have a new hood fan with the heat lamp feature, and it won't accept the BR40, but it takes these PAR38 bulbs. they do put out heat, it keeps the food warm. Again, they work like they're supposed to!

Placed on the end of a 200W fixture extension to provide heat on the porch for our pets.

The previous bulb base was nearly welded to the lamp holder. The new bulb is illuminating and heating well. It it lasts so the person who buys this house when I sell it has to change the bulb, then the longevity is fine. If I have to replace the bulb again, not so good.

Worked good at keeping the chickens and goats warm during the winter months.

Great price for durable heat lamp. Used in Chicken Coop in 40 below weather.

i would have to say the satco 175w red heat bulbs we bought last winter are the worst product we have bought in a long time. we used 250w bulbs up until now but the chuckars and quail we have now are older so we decided to use the 175w bulbs.one bulb the glass part of the bulb fell out of the metal part and the second bulb just burned out,the first night we used them we lost 80 chuckars and quail. i would rate these bulbs with a negative number if i could

Not happy with this one. Besides taking forever to get here and paying more to get it Prime. The metal part is crooked and there's something rattling inside the bulb. Most likely it's the piece of glass that broke off when they put the metal part on. I'd like a new one sent and to cancel my Prime membership before being charged for it.I want to like this product. There are so few odd wattage brooder lights out there. I like the nubbed glass especially.Please send a good one this time because it will eventually get cold and our chickens need the heat. Thank you. EricSo they sent a new one. Looked (and sounded) perfect. Was gonna come back and give it five stars until I plugged it in and the light coming out of it was yellow (orange at best). I'm sure this bulb has a purpose but brooding chickens just isn't it. Lets face it. This is a 12 dollar light bulb. I had to go in to at least a half dozen feed/farm stores but I finally found one with red glass 125's for $3.99 that were perfect.

After purchasing this bulb the breeder where i purchased the chicks said that the white light was better and safer so that the chicks are able to see eachother better. THOUGH as you can see I still have my red bulb and they are a week and a half old now. Been on 24/7 since the day before I received the chicks.

Perfect to keep the chickens warm at -20 in their coop.
