Our reading circle LOVED this book
Our reading circle has been reading Moonrise. What amazing voices of hope and inspiration are held within! The stories have opened interesting discussions about the world and our actions in it - CathyI love these women and they are so inspiring and discussing it with the reading group has also made me realize the inspiring women we have in our own lives who are doing so much important work for mankind and the planet and the universe - Mary RuthMoonrise is a beautiful compilation of remarkable women and the passion that they bring to this world! Their visions are powerfully inspirational and restore deep hope and trust that the sacredness of humanity, and all life force on the planet is held in reverence. With power like this, we cannot help but create a greater world! - SusanI have been touched by the depth of purpose, vision, and caring of the women who speak through Moonrise. I am grateful that the book includes women of varied races, classes, and nationalities as that inclusivity makes it more empowering to women all over the world. I have recommended this book to many people for its messages of hope, possibility, and responsibility to and for all life on this planet. - Karen

Order it right now!
A truly wonderful collection of generally short chapters describing the AMAZING contributions of various women who, 'simply', decided they needed to DO something. Truly inspiring and humbling. I especially liked that contact information to various websites for different organizations these women either started or particpate in (i.e., Bioneers, Code Pink) are included in the book -- right there for you when you feel inspired yourself. Definitely must read if you care about the environment, social justice, women's issues -- human issues.

Better than Chicken Soup!
An uplifting and encouraging account of women making a difference in the world. Stories from women as diverse as an engineer who gets her inspiration from the way living things work to Native American activists to an Asian-American artist who helped lead whole inner city neighborhoods to revitalization. Inspiring stories of women who lead and help us believe the future could be much brighter than our present might suggest.

Great book ~ so great I gave copies to several good friends
This is one of the most unusual and inspiring books I have ever read. Got it as a gift from my sister-in-law. So taken with it I gave it to several friends ~ they all thanked me for sharing it with them and said they would also pass it on to others in their lives.

Not What I Expected
I thought this would be a book on leadership. It was not. I thought the women would be sharing insights into how they created success in their fields. It did not. Instead, it gave a 30,000 foot look at women who have done remarkable things but there was little or nothing that I could take from their stories and say, " I can do that and maybe it will help me be more successful."The vignettes ran from a couple of pages to maybe 10 and after a while they al blended together.

Wanted my own
I borrowed this from the library on recommendation of a friend. It is so valuable that I need to own it. So glad Kindle had it! Will use it in meditations and worship opportunities for our United Methodist Women's gatherings.
