Lemon Grass Plant - Cymbopogon - With Nature Blue Plant Food - 4" Pot

I bought my first 2 LEMONGRASS plants plus 4 more lol for my besties from this seller over 2.5 years and I've been having the coolest patio/yard. I have been able to divide these beautiful plants from these initially 4" pots and granted unslightly to some when you take them out of the box but these LG plants just continually thrive and expand so much for me, I am running out of containers and yard/patio space lol. Just from my first 2 plants I had purchased, grew into 8 plants , which are in 12" or larger planters. These huge, graceful , healthy clumps of intoxicating divinely scented lemongrass are very hardy. Whatever critics impatiently did not do, lemon grass liked our ratio of 2parts compost to parts garden soil around our rocky landcape protected by burlap on a few nights of frost we've had over the last two winters, and the ones I can carry in their containers happily spend those evenings in our kitchen/dining area just to show you, they are not delicate lol. If you can care for a lawn or even a houseplant, anybody can easily maintain LEMONGRASS to keep for years.

I have always wanted a lemongrass plant because it reminds me of my mother. When I ordered this product and learned that it had been shipped via USPS I panicked thinking that it would not arrive alive. I contacted the vendor (Hirt's via Amazon) and they were very corteous and even funny. I ordered one night, the plant was shipped the next day and I received it within 3 days (maybe 4 because July 4th was right in the middle.)A problem arose because the mailman did not bother to ring my doorbell and the plant was left in my front step in full sun and 100 degree weather until the next day. When I opened the box all I could see was burnt-to-a-crisp grass. Nevertheless, I promptly watered what was left in the pot. I contacted the vendor and they promised to send another plant if the one I had received did not revive.The next day I snipped all the dry grass since it was obvious they would never be coming back but I maintained the soil watered and hoped for the best. I was not worried too much because I expected a new plant if the watering did not work out.I am extremely happy to report that within days the plant started sending up new blades and as of now I have maybe 15-20 beautiful little lemongrass leaves. I am going to repot the plant and expect to have a full grown specimen soon.I would buy from this vendor again with confidence.I usually do not write reviews but I am writing this so if other people receive a dry plant they give it a chance because it will probably be fine with a little bit of care.

Pretty disappointed in that the plant that I received is little more than a shoot. I used to grow Lemongrass (in La.) to cook with & had huge bushes of the stuff & know that 1 tiny shoot with only a few green leaves that are rapidly drying out & dying, despite the best of care makes me feel as though these sellers are robbing us ALL after all the other unhappy reviews that I read on here AFTER ordering. I should have read the reviews PRIOR to ordering!!! I gave 3 stars because of the perfect packaging though. I think there needs to be a responsible supervisor who oversees WHAT is being shipped to customers & make certain that they sell WHAT IS BEING advertised!!! I do NOT enjoy throwing MY $$$ away to get a few little leaves with what appears to be a very unhealthy root base!!! I have it in the house next to the window/slight indirect winter sun so it is NOT exposed to bright burning sun at all. It is still in its original 4" plastic square container & kept moist with even a mist of water sprayed once a day to make certain that the leaves don't dry out, but it seems that they are anyway. I think the transplanting by pulling apart from the base prior to shipping to customers is shocking the young plant to not be able to thrive. Those with good reviews of this product are obviously receiving the larger, stronger sections of the root bases while the rest of us are receiving the smaller, shocked portions that are all destined to shrivel up & die soon after they are torn from their root bases & shipped for the same price that the "good" ones that are destined to thrive because they have maintained the better parts of the main root base. I'd rather receive what's in the advertised picture than get my money back because THAT is what I thought that I was ordering & need it!!!

first order (scrawny, 4-6 inch leaves) arrived about half dead, and five days later they were completely dead. wouldn't have given item/seller a one star if a lower rating had been available.replacement came today, and what a difference. 12-14 inch leaves, brilliantly green and healthy-looking. wish this had been the original shipment, but the seller made up for my original frustration.

At the recommendation of a friend, I ordered this plant because I had a plethora of mosquitoes around my front door. I was told that the presence of this plant would help rid my entry of them. I had an electrical zapper, but my guests and I were being assaulted before reaching the area covered by it. This item arrived as promised and was quite healthy. The packing was excellent! The plant was secure in the pot and the soil had not even moved. I planted the lemon grass immediately, watered it and have enjoyed watching it thrive. Today, after a rainstorm,, the plant is standing erect, growing and preparing to do its job! As a landscaping plant it is beautiful as well as useful. I plan to order more for next summer to keep the insects at bay and to beautify my garden. The supplier is one that I will use over and over. I am impressed with the prompt delivery but even more by the packing and the health of the plant.

The first one was really great. full and healthy and just really nice. I was super impressed. The second plant was the most pathetic plant I've ever seen in my life. It had 4 blades on it. 2 were dead. So I planted 2 blades of grass with the smallest root system ever. so the five stars went to 2. I guess you take your chances with this company.
